Mason Greenwood is the first player born in the 2000s to score a senior goal for Manchester United (born in October 2001).

The average age of Manchester United's starting XI against Astana was 24 years and 145 days - their youngest in a European game since December 2012 (24y 54d v CFR Cluj).

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer: "We made it hard for ourselves. Games like these, you want to make sure you win the game in the first 20 minutes and you can enjoy it.

"You could see some of our lads needed games but it's pleasing we got the three points. We always know that in and around the box he is one of the best finishers we have got.

"I'm sure [Mason Greenwood] will go home and be happy with that one. We think today was a great opportunity for them [the young players].

"We wouldn't throw them in if they weren't ready. Some of them won't play against West Ham but will play against Rochdale midweek.

"If you want to make it as a Man Utd player you need to handle the fans. Mason won the game for us. Angel [Gomes] did well and [Tahith] Chong showed glimpses. Two clean sheets so now we're looking forward to Sunday.

"The first four or fives weeks it's just one game a week so you don't really get to utilise everyone."

Arsenal

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka: "I'm so happy to score for Arsenal, it's a dream come true - I have been dreaming of this moment since I was a kid.

"I just want to keep working hard to make sure I can feel this feeling again."

Arsenal manager Unai Emery:"We knew tonight was going to be difficult, they fell back very deep and caused us problems early on.

"We recovered the ball well and the young players showed the confidence to take their chances.

"Everybody can be happy and continuing in this competition is important, so it was good to get a good win, especially away from home."

Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo: "It is difficult to break down a team. We didn't create much but the chance they had they got it. It's a tough game. We have to keep on going.

"All the goals are mistakes. If there was perfection there would be no goals. We have to remain calm and move on.

"We controlled the game and managed well but one of the things we have to improve is to be patient and find a way to break down teams. Individually and as a team we have to raise our standards again.

"On Sunday we have another challenge [against Crystal Palace]."

Wolves

Wolves captain Conor Coady, speaking to BT Sport: "It's disappointing the run we're on. We need to get out of it as quick as possible. It doesn't matter what competition we play in we need to get out of it.

"It's everyone playing on the pitch. We all need to rectify it. We all need to come together. We should have scored to be honest.

"We should have kept the clean sheet. We need to be better."

Manchester United

Man Utd midfielder Nemanja Matic, speaking to BT Sport: "It was a hard game. First half we tried to open the game and score a fast goal but they had a solid defence.

"Second half, when you don't score it is more difficult, but we managed it and it is important to start with three points.

"It is good for the young players to have the opportunity to play these games. They have to use that, work hard and get more chances.

"It is great the club give them the chance. I am happy for them. They are young and want to prove they deserve to wear the shirt. They are the future of the club."

Rangers have just got their Europa League Group G campaign off to a winning start. Sheyi Ojo's superb strike proving the difference between the two sides.

James Tavernier's penalty miss didn't prove costly as Feyenoord couldn't find a way beyond an inspired Allan McGregor in the second half.

Phil Beck: Pleased for Greenwood but let's be honest, overall, that was pathetic. Their keeper had to make some saves, but the overall lack of creativity and intent is so worrying.
