    Wolves 0-0 Sporting Braga

A long ball over the top is headed wide by Paulinho before Joao Palhinha hits one over the bar from long range as Braga continue to frustrate Wolves.

  2. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Astana

This was worrying for Man Utd. Martin Tomasov cuts inside from the right and swings a lovely ball into the back post.

Dorin Rotariu is chasing it up and almost gets a toe on it before it curls out for a goal kick. That wasn't far at all...

    Man Utd 0-0 Astana

Man Utd's latest free-kick is given to Fred but Astana keeper Nenad Eric does well to palm it away to his left.

James Garner, Jesse Lingard and Scott McTominay are sent to warm-up.

    Wolves 0-0 Sporting Braga

While Manchester United search for a goal at Old Trafford, Wolves are doing the same at the Molineux but are still finding it hard to break through Braga's backline.

Their latest attack breaks down with a foul on the edge of the box before the referee calls for the medical team to come and check on the Braga keeper, who is clutching his right leg.

I was talking to a former Manchester United player at half-time, who said his old club needed to move the ball faster if they are to get any joy here.

It's a good experience for these younger players but the hosts could do with winning this one.

England Under-21 boss Aidy Boothroyd is here by the way.

    Man Utd 0-0 Astana

Marcus Rashford's curling free-kick flies just over the crossbar and drops on top of the netting. He turns away in frustration and argues with the referee about the distance of the wall.

    Man Utd 0-0 Astana

A bobbling ball in the box is snatched up by Mason Greenwood but his shot is blocked by Evgeny Postnikov.

It bounces off the defender and rolls slowly but dangerously close to the right post. Inches...

  9. CLOSE!published at 52 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Sporting Braga

Raul Jimenez dummies the ball in the box - maybe not intentionally - and it falls for Leander Dendoncker.

His shot is straight at the keeper!

    Wolves 0-0 Sporting Braga

A slow start to the second half from Wolves but they are patiently building an attack here. Morgan Gibbs-White does well to win a foul on the left and Patrick Cutrone's cut-back is just slightly behind of Raul Jimenez.

Taylor: The problem ManUtd have this season is that they don't have a prolific striker. Haven't had for a good few years. Rashford is another Danny Welbeck and won't score most of the chances he gets.

Mike: Rojo has just turned to Beckham, distinguished passes.

Marcus Rashford immediately wins the ball back in the opposition half but can't get a shot away before it runs out for a corner.

Angel Gomes then makes a lovely turn on the edge of the box and Marcos Rojo's cross from the left is inches away from Tahith Chong's sliding leg.

Any changes at half-time from Ole Gunner Solskjaer? He has Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata on the bench.

After that, it's a pick of Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, Ashley Young and 18-year-old James Garner...

Peter Thomas: Have supported United for 66 years and this side tonight is the worst one I have ever seen absolutely atrocious no coordination and it seems no plan and no skill.

Josh Earl: The youngsters are doing themselves no harm, Greenwood, Gomes & Chong all looking lively.. however we desperately need to quicken the pace of the play up and stretch Astana a bit more, too predictable and easy for Astana to defend at the minute.

Luke: Surely OGS needs Greenwood up front. One of the best finishers he has ever seen or Rashford one of the worst finishers everyone has ever seen?

Calvin: The other 5 of the top 6 would have broken these down by now....not United.

Rich: United relying on their full backs for width, neither of whom are any use when it comes to crossing the ball!

  20. Man Utd are better than Santa Colomapublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 19 September 2019

    Man Utd 0-0 Astana

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

FC Astana have already drawn one European away game 0-0 this season.

That was against the Andorran side Santa Coloma in the second qualifying round of this competition.

It is fair to assume getting the same result at Old Trafford would rather eclipse that achievement.
