  1. CLOSE!published at 18:28 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-2 Northern Ireland

    Oh dear.

Alex Kral, with David Luiz hair flowing behind him, darts in behind and picks out Michael Krmencik inside the box, but the Viktoria Plzen striker mis-cues a shot horribly wide.

That is embarrassing from an international footballer.

  2. CLOSE!published at 18:26 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-2 Northern Ireland

The Czechs are all over the place at the back.

Northern Ireland should have put the game to bed but Gavin Whyte's volley from close range following Jordan Thompson's cross is straight at goalkeeper Jivi Pavlenka.

    Jonny Evans (23 mins)

  5. Postpublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-1 Northern Ireland

Been an excellent opening 20 minutes from Michael O'Neill's men.

They took an early lead and are now happy to sit organised, letting the Czechs have the ball in front of them.

  6. England take a soakingpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Bulgaria v England (19:45 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Sofia

England players have just had to dash for cover as they were soaked by two giant sprinklers aimed in their direction as they took a walk on The Vasil Levski Stadium.

Purely accident but a few showed a nice turn of pace.

  7. CLOSE!published at 18:17 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-1 Northern Ireland

Czech Republic win a corner which is curled dangerously into the six yard box, defender Stefan Simic sticks a leg out at it, but the effort loops nicely into the hands of goalkeeper Michael McGovern.

  8. Czechs playing 'pantomime football'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-1 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
    Former Northern Ireland defender

    Quote Message

It's a great finish and a great ball form Liam Boyce, who played it right along the edge of the 18-yard box. Good first touch from McNair and tucked it into the goalkeeper's left-hand corner. Really great composure from McNair on the edge of the box, but it's all stemmed from the Czechs not kicking it clear, which invited the pressure from NI. They're getting themselves in all sorts of bother trying to play it out from the back. This is crazy, absolutely crazy. Pantomime football from the Czechs at the back.

  9. CLOSE!published at 18:13 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-1 Northern Ireland

What are Czech Republic playing at at the back???

Centre-back Ondrej Kudela plays a blind pass across his own box which Stuart Dallas latches onto but is unable to find the target with his first-time effort.

He should have done better because goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka was caught way out of position.

  10. goal

GOAL - Czech Republic 0-1 Northern Irelandpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Paddy McNair (8 mins)

    Breakthrough!

A lovely goal from Paddy McNair, sneaking in ahead of left-back Ladislav Krejci, who is sleeping in the box.

The Middlesbrough man takes a touch to set himself and then strokes a low, left-footed finish into the net.

  11. CLOSE!published at 18:08 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Waheeeeey!

Czech goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka completely misses a backpass and airshots it out for a corner.

Paddy McNair drills it in low and Liam Boyce flicks a clever effort into the sidenetting.

  12. CLOSE!published at 18:05 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland

The hosts almost take the lead in the opening few minutes.

Leicester defender Jonny Evans gives the ball away and the cross comes in, but right-back Radim Reznik's header is at a good height for goalkeeper Michael McGovern to push away.

  13. Postpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland's two frontmen looking to link up.

Gavin Whyte swings in a cross from the left towards Liam Boyce in the box, but it has too much on it for the Burton Albion striker.

  14. Chance for NI's young guns to impresspublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Keith Gillespie
    Former Northern Ireland winger

    Quote Message

It's a great opportunity for them, they haven't played too many games between them for Northern Ireland, so it's a chance for them to show Michael [O'Neill] that they're knocking on the door. I think the 3-5-2 tonight will suit Tom Flanagan playing with two Premier League defenders in Jonny Evans and Craig Cathcart. This will be good experience for them with the possibility of coming to a country like this in the play-off.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

  19. 'England need Plan B'published at 17:43 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Bulgaria v England (19:45 BST)

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

When we are up against better teams, you have to find a way to beat them. If we want to kick on and win something, we've got to have that Plan B.

We go out and play and he might tinker a little bit with the system but it's not big changes. We haven't got that 'it's not working, what do we do?' It's just change a player for a player, rather than thinking let's go three at the back, or an extra man in midfield or two up front. We haven't got that yet.

It should be a system where you click your fingers and Plan B, Plan C. Gareth is still learning. He's done a marvellous job.

The next level for him - as much as the team - is having a system where he can see this is not working. If it means taking two off at half-time, so be it.

  20. Tomori almost passed over by Englandpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 14 October 2019

    Bulgaria v England (19:45 BST)

    Fikayo TomoriImage source, Getty Images

The fact Fikayo Tomori first played for Canada rather than England remains a mystery to the coaches who handed him his international debut.

The 21-year-old Chelsea centre-back, who was born in Calgary and is also eligible for Nigeria through his parents, could make his senior England debut against Bulgaria on Monday.

But it wasn't until he shackled Marcus Rashford playing against England in an under-20s game three years ago that he alerted English coaches to his potential.
