Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales
I have never seen so many people relived when that final whistle was gone.
For some reason the second half we were not just at it. I am not happy with that performance.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
More from Ryan Giggs: "Everyone needs a little bit of luck. Maybe we got it tonight. Hopefully it will help momentum. That’s what we need.
"We have four qualifiers, if we get momentum in a short space of time that could be good. We know we're capable of beating them [Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia]. But we can’t play like we did first half.
"It’s in our own hands. The other teams will beat each other. If we win all our games, that should get us there. We’ve won our two home games. We need to show the winning mentality away from home."
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Wales boss Ryan Giggs was critical of some of his players after the game.
He told Sky Sports he felt "relief" at the winner.
"Having dominated the game, I knew we needed a second goal," he continued. "They’ve scored in every game, they're dangerous on the counter. When you’re 1-0 up, it’s difficult whether to stick or twist.
"It wasn’t good enough, first half. We didn’t stick to our game plan. Some of our players wanted to do whatever they wanted to do.
"I was happy with the work-rate. We showed character to come back. We have so many players in good form, but too many players didn’t show up tonight."
Asked about whether he feels Wales are close to playing how he wants them to...
"I think I’m close in training during the week and then come the game not so close. It’s not easy. The players play different styles with their clubs. We only get two training sessions. We’re getting there. When we do what we plan, we look dangerous – moving the ball quickly. We were in too much of a rush early on."
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Nia Jones
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales
We have got individual talent now but I find us predictable.
We don’t hit the switch quick enough; we don’t deliver balls early enough into the box.
I am not sure Ryan Giggs knows what his playing philosophy is, never mind the players.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Wales debutant Joe Rodon to Sky Sports: "It was frustrating. Brilliant character from the boys to get over the line. Their goal was a setback but it happens. To get the three points gives us confidence for the next game.
"It’s a dream come true for me, especially to get three points in front of a home crowd. Hopefully there’s more to come. We’ve got to believe in ourselves."
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Wales midfielder Joe Allen to Sky Sports: “Not the prettiest win. They came here to make it difficult.
“It was disappointing to let them back in. We’d love for it to have been more comfortable but a win’s a win.
“Hopefully a little bit of luck and the momentum has changed in our direction. Hopefully with better performances we can keep getting results.
“Being ahead in a game like that, in some ways it’s criminal to let them back in but we’ll learn from it.
“We’ve talked about in the dressing room – if we do our job and get the wins, especially at home, that will be pivotal.”
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Wales captain Ryan Giggs to Sky Sports: "Azerbaijan made it difficult. We were sloppy at times. We ground it through and showed our character.
"We just tried to keep doing what we were doing - be patient. We were playing decent football.
"We need to learn these things, we’re doing new things the manager wants.
"The most important thing was the three ponts. Scrappy wins get help you a winning mentality and momentum. Hopefully this is a turning point. It wasn’t the best performance. We’ve scraped through. We’d like to do it in style but three points is three points.
"We all believe we can qualify. We’ll keep doing that until the end."
Scotland lost 2-1 to Russia at Hampden Park, blowing a 10th-minute lead.
"Another Scotland campaign dead in the water at the halfway stage..." as my Scottish colleague describes it on their live text.
Here's how Group E looks tonight. It's Hungary and Croatia on nine points, Wales and Slovakia on six.
Head to head is used instead of goal difference.
Wales have played every team once now.
Another Liverpool player scored a late goal, with Dejan Lovren giving Croatia a 4-0 win in Slovakia.
The Netherlands have just beaten Germany 4-2 in Hamburg, Georginio Wijnaldum added an injury-time fourth.
That win keeps Wales' Euro 2020 hopes alive, although they are still three points off the top two.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Wales win. Just.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
That should be that as Azerbaijan concede a free-kick in their own half.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Another Azeri chance! Jonny Williams loses the ball to Agabala Ramazanov, who cuts into the box and has a deflected shot saved.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Ramil Sheydaev blasts his free-kick into the wall. HUGE let-off for Wayne Hennessey.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
Three minutes added on as Azerbaijan prepare to take a free-kick in shooting range.
Wales 2-1 Azerbaijan
CRAZY play by Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, who gifts the ball to Azerbaijan. Joe Allen has to commit a foul to stop them shooting and gets a yellow card.

Wales fans belt out the national anthem again. They're almost there.
