    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

It's still on a knife-edge really. Wales are completely dominating but a 1-0 lead is very dangerous. One Azeri chance and it's all square. If that happens Wales can probably forget about Euro 2020 (unless they get into the play-offs...)

  2. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Gareth Bale breaks into the box but Azerbaijan scramble the ball off him. Bale's played quite well so far, but I'd say Dan James is outshining him at the moment.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 52 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Wales defender Chris Mepham gets a pretty needless booking for fouling Ramil Sheydaev on halfway.

  4. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Dan James is getting involved now, he cuts inside, speeds away and has a shot blocked behind by Bahlul Mustafazade.

Elsewhere in Wales' Group E, Bayern Munich winger Ivan Perisic has just doubled Croatia's lead in Slovakia.

  6. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

The attendance for this game is 28,385. It's not a sell-out.

  7. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Connor Roberts touches the ball to Dan James, who uses lightning pace to skip into the penalty area before overrunning the ball.

  8. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Wales straight on the attack but Gareth Bale's cross towards Tom Lawrence is caught by the away keeper. Luckily for the visitors Pavlo Pashayev wasn't near the ball to turn it into his own net.

'We are looking stronger as the game goes on'published at 20:42 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

When we do it a little bit quicker we look as if we are on top.

We are looking stronger as the game goes on, once we started moving with Gareth Bale playing near Tom Lawrence we looked stronger.

Croatia lead Slovakia 1-0, with Nikola Vlasic scoring in the 45th minute. That would take the beaten World Cup finalists up to nine points, level with leaders Hungary.

Wales and Slovakia are on six points as things stand. Azerbaijan are on zero.

Hilarious goal, disjointed game. Simply securing a win is clearly the priority but that was an unconvincing half from Wales.

The home crowd sounds underwhelmed at the Cardiff City Stadium, despite the gallant effort of the brass band in the stands, The Barry Horns.

    Germany 1-0 Netherlands

The half-time whistle has gone in Hamburg too.

It's taken Belgium 43 minutes to break down San Marino despite having 81% of the ball. Michy Batshuayi has just scored a penalty after a handball to make it 1-0.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

It's half-time. Wales deservedly lead, but it's not been great.

  16. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Chance for Wales to double their lead as we enter one minute of injury time. Tom Lawrence cuts inside but forgets to put enough curl onto his shot and the Azerbaijan keeper saves.

  17. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Mahir Emreli is probably fortunate not to be sent off. He swings an arm to try to brush off Chris Mepham, and people have been sent off for that before. It could be 10 v 10 by now.

  18. Scotland pegged backpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

Oh oh. Russia have just equalised against Scotland, with Artem Dzyuba scoring from about 10 yards out.

    Follow that one here.

  19. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    Germany 1-0 Netherlands

Almost 2-0 to Germany but Jasper Cillessen does well to keep out Marco Reus' shot. Cillessen is back playing football now after leaving Barcelona for Valencia.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 42 mins

    Wales 1-0 Azerbaijan

Oof. Deserved yellow card for Azerbaijan's Dmitri Nazarov for a high boot on the chest of Connor Roberts as he controlled a throw-in.
