  2. 'We scored two own goals' - Berrapublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Hearts skipper Christopher Berra is doing his utmost to rain on Vakoun Bayo's parade.

Berra says Bayo's opener was actually an OG by himself and that the Celtic striker's second was another own goal, this time from Craig Halkett.

Berra said: "Yeah, it was a cross and from a yard just bounced up and hit me. We should have deal with it better overall, but I couldn't get out the way. We've scored two own goals today.

"We need to be more consistent in our performances from back to front. We know we have a lot of work to do."

  3. 'We are nearly there' - Leveinpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Celtic 3-1 Hearts

More from Craig Levein, who says: "This team are nearly there but we need a little more from everybody.

"We did lose the ball in front of defence for the goal so that’s obviously quite frustrating. We restricted Celtic to playing a lot of the time in big diagonals and snuffed out their short passes and movement so I thought we were really good in that department.

"But it’s all down to goals and if we do give Celtic goals then they’ll beat us."

  4. 'We gifted Celtic goals' - Leveinpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Hearts manager Craig Levein tells BBC Sportsound: "I’ve got complaints about quite a few things today. Celtic don’t need any help scoring goals and I think we gifted them a couple, definitely the first and second. The frustrating thing for me is that they had about five chances and scored three goals.

"The first one is a Christophe Berra own goal and Craig Halkett scored the third goal and he said he got his toe on it which is an own goal as well. In between times we gave the ball away.

"I’ve got to look at ourselves and it’s difficult because there were a lot of positives today and a lot of good performances but my overriding theme is that there was a lot of frustration."

  5. Hearts' horror runpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Hearts have now taken just two points from the last 30 available in the Scottish top flight. It's a dismal record that will do nothing to ease the pressure on head coach Craig Levein. We'll hear his thoughts shortly...

  6. 'Great start to big week' - Lennonpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Next up for Lennon and Celtic is Thursday's Europa League play-off second leg away to Swedish champions AIK.

The Celtic boss, whose side have a 2-0 advantage, said: "We have a job to do, it's a great start to a big week for us. We had a great performance against AIK and we're hoping for more of the same on Thursday.

"We've got goals in us, as we've proved this season, and we're hoping one goal for us on the night might swing it."

  7. Lennon praises 'excellent' Bayopublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm thrilled, it was an absolutely brilliant performance.

"It was a slow burner for Vakoun Bayo at the start, but once he got up to speed he was excellent. Good strength and his forte is getting across defenders. His second goal was brilliant and he can be delighted with his debut - we all are.

"I'm really disappointed with the penalty decision - if anything it was a foul on Christopher Jullien before the ball breaks to Sean Clare."

  8. 'Hearts failed to deal with Ajer'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

Kristoffer Ajer had so much space and time to run up and down the right flank. Nobody confronted him whatsoever. Surely Hearts should have made changes to deal with that.

  9. 'Bayo delivers under pressure'published at 16:57 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

Fair play to Vakoun Bayo, he was under pressure to show something today and he did. Hearts very disappointing. I think they're better than this, but they're not showing it.

  12. Sloppy from Celticpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Slack play from Nir Bitton gives Hearts a late chance to make it a frantic finale. Aidy White sets up Uche Ikpeazu but Fraser Forster makes the save. Neil Lennon is a picture of anger on the touchline at his side's late slackness.

I didn’t think it was a brilliant penalty and it wasn’t very powerful either. I thought he was down with enough time that Fraser Forster should have put it wide.

The fans are very happy with what they’ve seen so far, I know it’s Vakoun Bayo's first game so we won’t judge him too much on this one but what a confidence boost for him.

Vakoun Bayo is inches away from a hat-trick, sending a far-post header against the post after great wing play and delivery from James Forrest. Moments earlier it took a last-ditch tackle from Christophe Berra to nick the ball off Bayo's toe as he tried to race clear.

Entertaining bit of handbags between Celtic skipper Scott Brown and Uche Ikpeazu as they grapple in midfield. The Hearts striker showing a fighting spirit noticeably lacking in his team's pretty abject performance.
