  1. GOAL Scotland 3-0 Cypruspublished at 39 mins

    Kim Little

After a lovely little bit of play between Kirsty Smith and Lisa Evans out wide, the ball comes in to Jane Ross. The Cypriots can't keep up with all the passes and miss Kim Little sneaking into the box. The classy midfielder runs onto the ball, has a wee look up, and buries the ball into the bottom left corner.

  2. Scots pressing for a thirdpublished at 32 mins

    Scotland 2-0 Cyprus

Cyprus look like they are struggling dealing with the constant attacks, with Scotland's pace out wide from Claire Emslie and Kirsty Smith and the intricate play through the middle from Caroline Weir and Kim Little.

And now it's Lisa Evans turn to take a shot as she runs on to a lovely pass from Little. The keeper gets a touch and the ball brushes the side-netting.

A wee breather for Cyrus for a moment, but no doubt Scotland will want to add to the score before the break.

Cyprus are pressing and trying to work hard, but you can already see they're starting to get tired. You expect Scotland to start picking holes now.

  4. Two bites for Rosspublished at 25 mins

    Scotland 2-0 Cyprus

Scotland striker Jane Ross brushes off Cypriot defender Antria Michall to have a blast at goal from just inside the penalty area. Shot-stopper Eleni Ttakka blocks it with both hands - right back to the feet of Ross, who perhaps rushes a second unsuccessful attempt, also stopped by the busy keeper.

Don't think that will be the frequent goalscorer's last attempt mind.

You see two creative players combining there. A fantastic pass and vision from Caroline Weir, and Kim Little shows great composure to slot it home.

  6. GOAL Scotland 2-0 Cypruspublished at 19 mins

    Kim Little

Great vision from Caroline Weir once again as she finds Kim Little on the edge of the box, the midfielder coolly shakes off her defender and rounds the goalkeeper to neatly tuck the ball away into the net.

That's a 55th international goal for the Arsenal captain.

  7. Chance for Cypruspublished at 15 mins

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Sort of...

Cyprus having a bold go at getting back into the game, Loucretia Chrysostomou picking up on Rachel Corsie's defensive mistake in the middle of the park and hoofing it at Lee Alexander goals. Ambitious and I guess a shot on target, but never a real threat.

Scotland may need to tighten up though just to be sure.

It's actually the first stage in the game that Lisa Evans and Claire Emslie have actually switched side. It's gone down the left, it's obviously Evans with the cross, and Emslie has taken the goal fantastically well. She wasn't looking for power there, it was more prowess.

  9. GOAL Scotland 1-0 Cypruspublished at 10 mins

    Claire Emslie

Beautiful play from Scotland as Caroline Weir dribbles her way forward and sets up Lisa Evans for a perfect cross right onto the head of Orlando Pride's Claire Emslie, who nods it low into the net at the back post.

You can already tell Cyprus are not going to be able to handle the intelligent movement of the Scotland players.

  11. Scots' speed causing problemspublished at 7 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Cyprus

Cyprus struggling to handle the pace of Scotland already, with Claire Emslie flying down that left wing at every opportunity.

And Jane Ross too, on the right, picks up a ball from captain Rachel Corsie, but sends it wide across the face of goal.

  12. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Cyprus

Chance for Scotland as Kim Little weaves through the Cypriot defence and plays a pass to Lisa Evans, who cuts it straight back out to the Arsenal skipper, but the final strike is easily blocked by goalkeeper Eleni Ttakka.

    Lively start for Scotland.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 2 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Cyprus

A sore one for Jennifer Beattie who is sent high in the air by a lunging Elani Ginnaou, who picks up the game's first booking.

It's a bit of the unknown for Scotland, but this type of fixture is exciting, especially when your team is full of attacking players.

  16. Cyprinot a lot of bother... (sorry)published at 19:35 British Summer Time 30 August 2019

    Scotland v Cyprus (19:35)

Despite being regulars at the Cyprus Cup tournament, Scotland have never actually played the Cypriot national side.

Tonight’s opponents have never been in a qualification campaign for a major tournament before and lost their last friendly 6-1 to Hungary in June.

At 117 in the world rankings you would like to think they wouldn’t cause too much bother for the Scots.

And let’s hope I haven’t just jinxed us...

  17. Not quite record numberspublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 30 August 2019

    Scotland v Cyprus (19:35)

The Scots were roared on by a record 18,555 spectators in their World Cup send-off game against Jamaica at Hampden.

Then 6.1m viewers watched their first ever World Cup game against England on the BBC.

The national team will be hoping for more of the same as they embark on a journey that will, hopefully, take them to another major tournament finals.

And maybe a few more than currently in the damp Easter Road stands tonight...

  18. Nothing to see herepublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 30 August 2019

    Scotland v Cyprus (19:35)

Apologies have been made, the air apparently cleared and the Scotland camp as a whole just want to move on...

That has been the message this week after the informal post-World Cup debrief in Paris that left some players in tears and others considering their international futures.

    Scotland v Cyprus (19:35)

Tonight’s game marks a new campaign, a fresh start and clean slate for those of us still trying to get over the heartbreak of Scotland’s unceremonious World Cup exit in Paris this summer.

Onwards and upwards and all that.

Shelley Kerr’s side are looking to kick this qualifying attempt off with a win to get some momentum going again as they bid for a spot in a third successive major tournament finals.
