    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

A rare second-half attack from Celtic as Odsonne Edouard finds some room to manoeuvre. The striker lets fly with a shot from 20 yards but it fizzes over the top.

I am not surprised to see Olivier Ntcham coming on. Celtic need to win back control of midfield. They are being dominated in there at the moment

  4. Ntcham takes over from Forrestpublished at 66 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

It's actually a double change for Celtic as Olivier Ntcham replaces the oddly subdued James Forrest.

  5. Bauer on for Bittonpublished at 65 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Nir Bitton looks absolutely gutted as he slowly trudges off the park, with the home fans politely encouraging him to move a bit quicker.

  6. Bitton in bother...published at 63 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

It looks like Nir Bitton has run his race as he pulls up grimacing after colliding with the hoarding by the side of the pitch near the corner flag.

Celtic continue and a mazy run from James Forrest is eventually snuffed out by three Rangers defenders.

Bitton didn't really need to chase that lost cause and the visitors don't have much in the way of defensive cover on the bench.

  7. Can Morelos make his mark?published at 13:22 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

Jermain Defoe hasn't done much wrong. He made some nice runs, but he has not had much service and I think the game is made for Alfredo Morelos to come on and make an impact

  8. Morelos on for Defoepublished at 60 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Here comes that change, with Jermain Defoe making way for Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian is straight into the action, smashing an ambitious shot wide after a run into the box from the right flank.

  9. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

A huge cheer from the home fans at the sight of striker Alfredo Morelos getting some instructions on the touchline.

It looks like it won't be long before we see the Rangers striker.

  10. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Fraser Forster needs to make a save but it's a pretty straightforward one as he pushes away an angled drive from the lively Sheyi Ojo.

  11. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Rangers are piling men forward but they can't find a way through, with Christopher Jullien putting in a couple of good tackles in quick succession. Hatem Elhamed and Boli Bolingoli are also getting their first taste of this fixture and, so far, the Celtic defence is coping very well.

It is a good start to the second half for Rangers and they have a bit of momentum. The only issue for them is that, if they commit forward, can Celtic pick them off?

That was a bit of simulation from McGregor. But no yellow card. That's two he has got away with

  14. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Jon Flanagan is outraged as Callum McGregor goes for a phantom tumble while taking the ball past the Rangers defender. Bobby Madden is well placed but chooses to ignore the dive near the halfway line.

  15. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Sheyi Ojo is off and running after a long ball over the top but Celtic keeper Fraser Forster comes galloping out of his area to kick the ball to safety.

The home side come again and it needs a good block from Nir Bitton to repel Jermain Defoe's shot on the turn.

  16. KICK-OFF - Ojo on for Rangerspublished at 46 mins

    Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Here we go again. Rangers make a switch, with winger Sheyi Ojo on in place of central midfielder Glen Kamara.

Neil Lennon would have shown his players the last Old Firm game and how Rangers pressed them and told them 'that is not going to happen again'. It has gone the other way. They are in a great position and he will be thinking, if they win, great, if they draw, they will be satisfied

  18. Will Rangers change approach?published at 13:03 British Summer Time 1 September 2019

Will Steven Gerrard be thinking about introducing a winger? Neil Lennon has got to be saying 'same again, lads'.

Not long before we resume at Ibrox.

    Quote Message

I know how Bobby Madden works. He's thought, I don't want to give any early yellow cards and put pressure on myself to send anyone off. McGregor cleaned out his opponent and it was a definite yellow and Jack is lucky to still be on the park. He is trying to referee with a calmness, but I think he got both wrong

Rangers are playing so narrow and they need width from the full-backs, but Celtic have covered that and been the better side in the first half. Rangers are at it, but Celtic have matched them and more
