A real spring in the Welsh step now. Suddenly looking the better side as Tasha Harding threatens from a good cross from the right.

Wales level! And it's a bit of a fluke. They all count.

Angharad James shoots from the edge of the area, it hits team-mate Emma Jones on the back and flies into the net. No chance for NI keeper Emma Higgins.

Strike! Wales stand off Rachel Furness and she shoots left-footed from 25 yards, Wales keeper Laura O'Sullivan almost lets it through her grasp but just about scoops it up.

England boss Phil Neville: "It is frustrating. Both games have been frustrating. I would never criticise anyone for trying to do the right thing but we got punished.

"We have to keep working on the basics. Our defending especially in the first half was much better but the fundamental basics of football of passing to each other I thought was sloppy."

Concerned about conceding set pieces? "It is a concern because we work hard on it. We do a lot of defending and attacking set plays and it is basically a ball that is coming into the box that you have to throw your head at it. You have to want to head the ball and it is disappointing to concede and a game I always thought we were comfortable we have ended up losing."

The visitors still on top, although Natasha Harding does go close with a shot which loops over the top. Good ball through by Kayleigh Green.

  7. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Wales 0-1 Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland continue to dictate the play. They have started superbly as Lauren Wade again finds space down the left. Doesn't come to anything on this occasion.

Wales are not used to starting matches as the favourites and they seem nervous here at Rodney Parade where the visitors are on top.

    All to do for Wales.

  9. goal

GOAL - Wales 0-1 Northern Irelandpublished at 10 mins

    Simone Magill

    It's been coming!

Northern Ireland take the lead, a shock lead, but it's deserved on the balance of play. Wales don't deal with a corner, Sarah McFadden nods it back into the danger zone and Simone Magill is cool as you like to nod the ball down into the far corner.

Panic stations in the Wales defence as Lauren Wade's free-kick causes all sorts of grief but the hosts just about scramble it away.

England's women have completely stalled as a team. They look like a team trying to do everything and actually achieving nothing.

    You're in!

The Wales defence parts like the sea to allow Lauren Wade a clear run on goal. She's always a bit wide on the left of the area to be honest though and her low shot lacks conviction and is an easy enough save for Laura O'Sullivan.

Kayleigh Green is almost in on goal straight away for Wales but Ashley Hutton is across well to clear her lines.
