Despite all the chances and all of the goals, we have given away some amount of possession. It is our bad possession that has led to the goals.

GOAL Scotland 1-2 Russiapublished at 59 mins

    Yuri Zhirkov

More slack play from Scotland as a Ryan Fraser pass is intercepted, then Liam Cooper loses a run from Aleksandr Golovin and the Russia playmaker zips a great cut-back into the path of Yuri Zhirkov, who bundles it in from close range.

  18. 'Scotland are hesitant'published at 20:46 British Summer Time 6 September 2019

    HT: Scotland 1-1 Russia

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer on Sportsound

    Quote Message

I think Scotland are hesitant. The centre of defence are standing off people. They're allowing players to turn. Robertson tries to get rid of the ball but it just carries to Dzyuba. Scotland can still snuff that out but they're just too slow at getting to the Russian striker.

I'm sure Steve Clarke will be saying to them: 'See when you get the ball, I don't want you to make a clever or a hard pass. Just knock it to who is next to you'. We just can't rush away possession.
