    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

Another opportunity out of the blue for West Brom striker Charlie Austin.

Matt Phillips sends in a set piece, Austin times his run nicely, but his header from 15 yards is straight at Marcus Bettinelli between the sticks.

It was a fair distance out, but the former Southampton man was unmarked.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

Hello, what's happened here? I looked away for a second and the ball was looping towards the West Brom goal.

Oh, Steven Sessegnon had an attempt from a free-kick about 50 yards out. It went wide.

Albion aren't at the races so far.

Charlie Austin, dyed blonde mop on top, sends a simple pass straight out of play for a throw in.

Slaven Bilic looks furious. When doesn't he?

And now West Brom create their best chance.

Darnell Furlong bends in a ball from the left, Charlie Austin is all alone in the middle of the box, but his acrobatic volley goes high and wide.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 26 mins

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

Fulham are so close to breaking the deadlock.

First Anthony Knockaert bends a low shot towards goal which Sam Johnstone palms powerfully away.

Tom Cairney sends the rebound into the box and Bobby Reid's header into the ground is brilliantly tipped over by the Baggies stopper.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

    Excellent defending by Kyle Bartley!

Tom Cairney whips in a cross from the left, Aleksandar Mitrovic launches his big head at it, but Bartley steals it off the Fulham striker.

    Too much Tony!

Fulham forward Anthony Knockaert dances his way into the area, but he holds on to the ball too long and loses possession.

Bobby Reid then blasts an effort from 25 yards, but it's straight at Sam Johnstone. That's the first shot on target.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

That Tom Cairney chance aside, it's been a quiet opening 20 minutes at Craven Cottage.

It's absolutely sweltering pitchside. How much will conditions have a bearing on this game? The players are fit as fiddles, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Tom Cairney rattles one against the bar!

The Fulham skipper is sent through on goal by Harrison Reed, but his high effort smashes the woodwork.

West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone may have got a slight touch, but Cairney should have stuck that away.

  10. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

Here's a bit of threat from Albion!

Grady Diangana weaves his way into the Fulham area but his left-footed shot is blocked and out for a corner.

    Better from the visitors.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

It's all Fulham in these opening exchanges.

Tom Cairney bursts down the left, pulls it back to Ivan Cavaleiro on the edge of the box but the Portuguese's low shot is deflected for a corner.

The Baggies can't get out their own half.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

Baggies skipper Jake Livermore goes in late on his opposite number Tom Cairney just outside the Fulham box. Free kick.

Cairney winces in pain, but is up on his feet quick enough. Should be a tasty battle in midfield that.

    Fulham 0-0 West Brom

You'd expect the West Brom defence to be severely tested today.

Is there a better front three in the Championship than Fulham's Ivan Cavaleiro, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Anthony Knockaert? I'm not sure there is.

Huddersfield Town fans will have to wait another 24 hours to see if their side's fortunes improve under new boss Danny Cowley.

The 40-year-old took over at the Championship strugglers, with brother Nicky as assistant, on Monday.

Their first test is a game against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday, themselves under new boss Garry Monk.

You can read more about what Cowley had to say, including admitting they're in a relegation battle already, here.

  20. A new era at Boltonpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 14 September 2019

    Rotherham v Bolton (15:00 BST)

New owners, a new manager, new players, new hope. It's been a busy couple of weeks since Bolton's last league fixture - a 5-0 thumping at Gillingham.

But then they were a club in turmoil with kids taking to the field. Today, under the guidance of new boss Keith Hill and under stable ownership, Wanderers will be hoping to kickstart their season at Rotherham.

The table does not make pretty reading - five games, one point, no goals scored, 17 conceded and minus 11 points. But that was before. This is a new era.

We'll be keeping a close eye on how things unfold in south Yorkshire a bit later on...
