    It's a bitter lesson tonight. Even the Russia game too. Two dissapointing performances so far. I don't think Scotland are going to manage to resurrect this game. Even thought Belgium have taken their foot off the gas.

    Belgium counter and David Marshall has to deny Kevin De Bruyne.

    It's a good spell from Scotland. Belgium are again giving away possession with almost every pass.

    This game feels very much like Scotland in a nutshell. Some very tidy players in midfield and down the flanks, but no goalscorer or penetration up top, and the defending has been woeful.

    Scotland have a good spell of possession and Andy Robertson almost squeezes one in. A nice through ball finds the captain sprinting down the left, but his strike is blocked.

    Matt Phillips then fires one aimlessly wide.

    You have to defend. I don't think we've looked good defensively. We've put them under pressure and tried the high press and worked hard but we're three goals down. That tells you something.

    All three goals have been an absolute disgrace. The first was a total surrender of any defensive stability and organisation and discipline. A joke. How can you leave Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku all alone? As a professional footbal team how could you do that?

  19. Clarke must avoid an embarrassment

    A few boos ring round the stadium as the referee brings the first half to an end but most probably acknowledge they are witnessing something special here. It perhaps hasn’t been vintage Belgium but they are still streets ahead of the Scots. Few would have expected this to be a contest but Steve Clarke has a job on his hands to make sure it doesn’t become an annihilation.

  20. 'I don't see anyone picking up De Bruyne'

    We know Kevin de Bruyne has that quality but so far I don't see anyone doing anything about it. Nobody is getting close to him or picking him up. Or even knock him off his stride a little bit.
