    Ah, the mercy of the half-time whistle.

    Scotland started really brightly but a combination of Kevin De Bruyne's sheer brilliance and some school-boy defending means Scotland are getting a hiding on the scoreboard.

    The Man City midfielder crossed for Romelu Lukaku for the opener, crossed for Thomas Vermaelen for the second and, you guessed it, crossed for Toby Alderweireld for the third.

    It's not rocket science though, give a player of that quality space and he'll punish you.

    Kevin De Bruyne again finds Romelu Lukaku and the Inter Milan striker shoots straight at David Marshall.

    Has there been a better performance by a player at Hampden in the last 10 years? It's amazing to watch, defending aside.

    Kevin De Bruyne drifts into the half-space on the left, drives a cross through the legs of Charlie Mulgrew to Thomas Meunier at the back-post, but the winger finds the side-netting.

    The man is unplayable.

    A lot of people want Scotland to play open football and be in team's faces but if you do that you leave more space and teams like Belgium hurt you.

    The dissapointing thing is that it's from a corner. It's a good foot over the line. It's the quality from Kevin de Bruyne again.

    It's a simple corner and the Tottenham centre-back heads it off the bar and in. Guess who delivered it? Kevin De Bruyne. Three assists for the Man City star.

    Shocking defending from the hosts. Belgium haven't even played well.

    Youri Tielemans sends a looping volley inches wide for the visitors. Liam Cooper gifted the ball to him with a sloppy clearance.

    David Marshall was rooted to the spot there.

    Several thousand Red Devils supporters inside Hampden and they’re the ones making the noise as their team begin to show their class. I wonder how many young Scots showed up tonight primarily to watch these superstars.

  12. A 'scrappy set-piece' from Belgium

    It's a scrappy set-piece that they take. Kevin de Bruyne gets it in with his right foot and it's all a bit scrappy. He plays it in to that area that is so, so difficult to defend. But the cross from De Bruyne is absolutely magnificent.

    It's another pearler of an assist from that man De Bruyne. His ball is whipped beautifully across the face of goal, and Vermaelen side-foots it into the roof of the net. They were queuing up.

    There's not much happening at the moment. Scotland have been neat and tidy in possession, without any real penetration.

    Belgium have been poor, apart from one moment of brilliance. The visitors are enjoying more and more possession, though.

    Belgium now growing into the game, having already scored. Ouch.

    I've seen Kevin De Bruyne do that for Man City so many times. He breaks so quickly. His pass is exquisite. You have to applaud the opposition. Even the best teams in the Premier League can't stop him.
