Niang fired home but the visitors responded to level through Ryan Christie's penalty [James Forrest appeared to go to ground following minimal contact] in the second half.
Referee José María Sánchez Martínez then gave Celtic substitute Bayo his marching orders after being adjudged to have struck Rennes goalkeeper Mendy with a stray boot. Replays suggest the keeper made a bit of a meal of it...
