St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright: "At half-time we were reasonably happy, we didn't really have too many problems.

"[On St Johnstone's appeal for a goal] I think the ball crossed the line and that's the wee bit of luck that you need in these situations.

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Kilmarnock

"It was a shame because we lost a goal in the last minute of the first half. It is much better to go into the changing room at 1-0.

"We can put pressure on Celtic, but this is a tough game. The second half was very difficult for us, because Celtic pushed very high. We made two mistakes and Edouard scored two goals."

    FT: Celtic 3-1 Kilmarnock

Celtic manager Neil Lennon hailed his side's "absolutely superb performance" in their comeback victory at home to Kilmarnock.

Eamonn Brophy fired the visitors in front but Celtic responded through an Odsonne Edouard double and a close-range strike by Ryan Christie.

"We deserved so much more from the first half," said Lennon. "We came in at half-time and asked guys behind the scenes how many attempts at goals we've had. It was 14 - some teams don't get that many in 90 minutes.

"You could see there was a verve and real tempo about our play. The scoreline flattered Kilmarnock at half-time. They had one real chance, if you even want to call it an attack, and a great goal from Brophy.

"The 15-20 minutes after half-time we were absolutely superb. That's six wins out of six and a magnificent start to the season."

  9. 'I must credit the players enormously for their efforts today' - Leveinpublished at 17:18

    Hibs 1-2 Hearts

Hearts manager Craig Levein is a happy man following his side's Edinburgh derby victory.

"Up to the point where Stevie Mallan scored I felt that our defence were excellent and hadn’t really caused us many problems," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"Down to the great character that the players showed and the fighting spirit they showed to get back into the match, and if we left here without three points I'd have felt that we’d been robbed today. So it was only fitting because I thought we were the better side.

"I felt that the overall bravery of the team today and the willingness to just roll the sleeves up and keep going was as much a part to play as the change of the personnel and change of shape. I must credit them enormously for their efforts today and I’m so pleased for the supporters.

"We sold out all our tickets today at a time when we’re not our best, so that was for them. Because they’ve obviously had a difficult time as well."

    Quote Message

Uche Ikpeazu used his body really well, chested it down and spun and scored. But prior to that it was a bit of toing and froing - I couldn’t really see either team scoring because of the corners, you know, the goalkeepers actually coming and claiming them.

    Quote Message

I have to say, apart from Stevie Mallan’s wonder strike, Hibs weren’t all that aggressive in their play and didn’t cause Hearts too many problems either. But I think Mallan's goal forced Craig Levein's hand. I don’t think having three at the back was ever set up to go and win the game. But certainly when he changed it gave them a different dimension and a much more aggressive stance in the game
