  3. Gerrard gripe over fixturespublished at 11:41

    St Johnstone v Rangers (12:15)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says his side and Celtic need more of a helping hand regarding Premiership kick-off times after European games.

The two Glasgow clubs were in Europa League action on Thursday against Feyenoord and Rennes, respectively.

Rangers face St Johnstone at 12:15 - in a game televised by BT Sport - with league leaders Celtic hosting Kilmarnock at 13:00.

"We aren't complaining. It is the way it is. But they go the other way and make them earlier," said Gerrard.

"Certainly for us and Celtic, you would like to think that our own league would help us in terms of kick-off times."

"I probably haven't been up here long enough to maybe bring that up - but it is not good, is it?

"You are kicking off at eight o'clock on a Thursday and your players, [with] the adrenaline, can't get to sleep until three or four o'clock in the morning - and then our league, who are supposed to be our governing body who help us, go and agree a kick-off time at 12:15 on Sunday."

Rangers make two changes to the side that beat Feyenoord at Ibrox last Thursday. Joe Aribo and Brandon Barker come in for Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara. Nikola Katic isn't in the 18-man squad after he was dropped to the bench in the Europa League tie.

  6. Perth poised for tight affair?published at 11:28

Rangers needed a late Alfredo Morelos goal to edge out St Johnstone on their last visit to Perth, in December last year.

Don’t be surprised if this latest McDiarmid Park date between the sides is a similarly tight affair.

Second-placed Rangers are looking to maintain their 100% away record in the league so far this term, and will go into this afternoon's game as favourites.

However, after a sluggish start to the season, second-bottom Saints have been showing signs of improvement - a solid point at Aberdeen last time out is proof of that.

The hosts will also hope to capitalise on any fatigue their guests may be feeling after their midweek Europa League exertions against Feyenoord.
