  1. goal

GOAL St Johnstone 0-2 Rangerspublished at 61 mins

    Connor Goldson

That could be that. Rangers double their lead with the St Johnstone defence all at sea. James Tavernier's initial cross is blocked but his second effort finds the head of Connor Goldson. His effort finds the corner of the net despite Zander Clark getting a touch.

  2. Penalty shoutpublished at 31 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

It's that man James Forrest again. The ball breaks to him 10 yards out and his shot is goal-bound until Alan Power gets in the way. Celtic scream for a handball but the referee Greg Aitken blanks the appeals.

  3. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

Rangers come within a whisker of doubling their lead as St Johnstone defender Tony Ralston makes a hash of trying to clear a James Tavernier cross and the ball bounces off Alfredo Morelos narrowly wide.

"He's got away with one there," booms BBC Sportsound commentator Rob Maclean.

    Quote Message

There's a lot of nonsense to be said about the role of a modern striker. All any striker has to do is score goals and that's what Alfredo Morelos does.

  5. Forrest on firepublished at 24 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

James Forrest is revelling in his role on the left. The winger gets his fourth shot on target of the opening 25 minutes, cutting on to his right foot and letting fly from the edge of the box. Kilmarnock goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu gets down smartly to save and then block Callum McGregor on the rebound.

  6. Clark to the rescuepublished at 52 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark punches a James Tavernier effort clear - you get the feeling that the next goal will be crucial.

The visitors remain a goal to the good, courtesy of Alfredo Morelos's brilliant strike.

  7. Celtic pressing for openerpublished at 20 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

Boli Bolingoli forces a corner for Celtic as the hosts look to break the deadlock. Kilmarnock, who have looked impressive defensively in the opening 20 minutes, clear their lines.

Morelos has that in his locker. It's a little self-inflicted by St Johnstone since Tanser didn't cover himself in glory. Jack is brilliant with the breakaway from the corner. Morelos shows strengths and composure to then finish it.

  9. CLOSE!published at 48 mins

    St Johnstone 0-1 Rangers

The hosts spurn a glorious chance to equalise almost immediately. Matty Kennedy's cross gives Alistair McCann the chance to finish but he fluff his lines.

What a start to the second half in Perth.

  10. goal

GOAL St Johnstone 0-1 Rangerspublished at 47 mins

    Alfredo Morelos

We have a goal in Perth and it's a brilliant one at that. Alfredo Morelos wriggles away from the St Johnstone defence and is coolness personified to steer his shot high beyond the helpless Zander Clark

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:17

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

James Forrest comes within a whisker of breaking the deadlock as his effort clips the post on its way out for a goal kick.

  13. 'May needs goals'published at 13:15

    St Johnstone 0-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

What will give Stevie May confidence is finding the back of the net. It has been such a long time for him. He had a poor spell at Aberdeen by any striker's standards. He needs goals.

  14. CLOSE!published at 12 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

Another chance for Celtic to break the deadlock as Boli Bolingoli feeds James Forrest but the winger's tame effort is comfortably gathered by man mountain Laurentiu Branescu.

It looked the perfect opportunity for Forrest to hit his trademark outside-of-the-foot flash at goal...

  15. 'Alessio has got Kilmarnock well organised'published at 13:11

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

The start Kilmarnock had would have spooked any manager. Especially losing in the Europa League [qualifiers]. The some of the former players coming out and criticising him. But Angelo Alessio has been around the block and he's a professional - he's got them well-organised now.

  16. Killie on the counterpublished at 8 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

Moritz Bauer concedes possession, allowing Kilmarnock to spring a lightning counter attack. However, Callum McGregor is on the scene to nullify the danger.

  17. Saints have grown into itpublished at 13:06

    HT: St Johnstone 0-0 Rangers

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

Not a classic in Perth so far. Have Rangers been the better side? Yes ... but they haven't got into their stride.

Why? Because Saints have been resolute and not allowed it, in a game where chances have been at a premium. In fact, the hosts have really grown in to things as the game has gone on.

Tommy Wright will be hoping for more of the same, but Steven Gerrard will be demanding more from his side after the break.

  18. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

Almost the perfect start for Celtic as Callum McGregor plays the ball into Ryan Christie, who controls before fizzing a shot narrowly wide.

  19. 'Rangers are too static'published at 13:05

    St Johnstone 0-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

We've talked about St Johnstone's tactics and how they've grown into the game. What do you do if you're a Rangers player to counter that? Everything is static. Not much movement or angles shown from the forwards. The defenders aren't moving the ball quick enough and the midfielders don't really want it. They have to speed the game up.

  20. 'Tanser has been very impressive'published at 13:04

    St Johnstone 0-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Scott Tanser has been very impressive. I've watched him a lot this season. Great quick feet to get himself to the byline and then a magnificent cross in to the box. Just unlucky that he couldn't find a team-mate.
