Beautiful day for football in Ayrshire.

No Eamonn Brophy for Kilmarnock, he’s out with a thigh strain. Osman Sow, on loan from Dundee United, starts for the home side. Alex Bruce replaces Dario del Fabro at the back; Millar and McKenzie are recalled as St Clair and Burke drop to the bench.

Ross County are going for three league wins in a row, Joe Chalmers and Blair Spittal come in; Paton and Fontaine drop out .

    St Mirren v Hearts (15:00)

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

St Mirren keep the same side that drew 0-0 with Hamilton Academical last weekend. Clearly Jim Goodwin’s side are doing something right, they are good at keeping goals out. But scoring goals is the big problem. Junior Morias leads the line, but he is yet to score for Saints and the Paisley side are the lowest scorers in the division.

On the positive side for Saints, no Hearts side has won here in the league since 2010.

  5. Two changes for Hamilton, four for Livipublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Hamilton v Livingston (15:00)

Brian Rice's side earned a point at St Mirren last weekend but that doesn't stop the Accies manager from two changes ahead of another tough tie. Ronan Hughes comes in for Will Collar in the middle of the pitch, while up front Steven Davies has come in for George Oakley, who is currently serving a suspension.

Gary Holt has opted for an even bolder strategy, making four changes from the side that narrowly lost 1-0 to Rangers in the League Cup just a few days ago. Matija Sarkic, Jack McMillan, Keaghan Jacobs and Lyndon Dykes have all dropped out and in their place come Ross Stewart, Alan Lithgow, Jack Stobbs and Scott Robinson.

  6. Alessio freshens things up, two changes for Countypublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Kilmarnock v Ross County (15:00)

After Wednesday's shoot-out defeat to Hibernian in the League Cup, Angelo Alessio has made four changes to his side. Alex Bruce starts on his 35th birthday ahead of Dario Del Fabro, while Osman Sow, Rory McKenzie and Liam Millar come in for Eamonn Brophy, Chris Burke and Harvey St. Clair.

Ross County make just two changes from the side that beat Motherwell last weekend. Harry Paton and Liam Fontaine drop out, with Blair Spittal and Joe Chalmers replacing them.

  7. Stewart starts for Rangers, Considine injured for Donspublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Rangers v Aberdeen (15:00)

Rangers make three changes from the 1-0 League Cup win over Livingston.

Greg Stewart starts against his old club, while Steven Davis and Connor Goldson both come into the side too.

There's no place in the squad for the injured Joe Aribo or Filip Helander, while Glen Kamara drops to the bench.

There's no place in the Aberdeen side for Andrew Considine, meaning Bristol City's on-loan defender Zac Vyner starts.

The only other change from the cup defeat to Harts is Niall McGinn in for the injured James Wilson.

  8. An unpredictable affairpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

To say St Johnstone and Motherwell have experienced contrasting fortunes so far this season is an understatement.

Saints are currently bottom of the table having taken just three points from their opening six games.

The Steelmen are fourth, and despite losing to Ross County last time out, will be heading to Perth I’m confident mood.

It was two wins each in the four games between the sides last season, don’t be surprised if this is a similarly unpredictable affair, despite the current gap between them in the table.

  9. Absent Dykes a big miss for Livipublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Hamilton Accies v Livingston (15:00)

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland

Bad news for Livingston as Lyndon Dykes misses out through injury after his impressive performance against Rangers in midweek. It was Felip Helander’s challenge that might have led to a red card that has causes the big striker to miss out.

Accies have no wins in their last five matches and need to end that soon to avoid being dragged into the dogfight at the bottom.

  10. Hearts out to break down stuffy Saintspublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    St Mirren v Hearts (15:00)

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

Craig Levein tells me he’s resting Christophe Berra today, but bringing in Callumn Morrison to change things up in the hope of finding a way to breakdown St Mirren.

The Paisley side might be struggling for goals - they are the lowest scorers in the Premiership - but they are stuffy at the back, Jim Goodwin’s side have conceded the fewest number of goals in the division outside the teams in the top three.

  17. A point for Hibs to build on?published at 14:30 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    FT: Hibernian 1-1 Celtic

Celtic can feel aggrieved not to have had a penalty in the second half but Hibs deserve credit for a dogged, defensive effort. The Edinburgh side will welcome the point after such a dire start to the season and there was plenty of fight in the home side, which has perhaps been lacking in past weeks.

The goals seem like a long time ago now, a Kristoffer Ajer own goal followed by a Ryan Christie header.
