    FT: Hearts 0-1 Kilmarnock

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

So many Hearts efforts summing up this season so far - off target.

Another frustrating watch for the Gorgie faithful who have not seen a home win in the league now for six months.

The derby win followed up by a point away at St Mirren should have been the foundations of a feelgood factor, but home form is a huge concern as Hearts continue to underperform in the Premiership. Is it the pressure of playing in front of their home crowd? Is it the injuries? Is it something else. There will be plenty of Hearts fans looking at Craig Levein to provide answers again.

As for Kilmarnock, three deserved points and they can go into the international break feeling pleased with themselves. Chris Burke’s header took a deflection off Jake Mulraney but the 35-year-old former Scotland international assured throughout.

  4. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 1-1 Hibernianpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Aberdeen escape a third consecutive defeat despite finishing the game with nine men.

Ryan Porteous put Hibs in front shortly after the break, with Curtis Main sent off soon after.

Hibs striker Christian Doidge missed three chances to extend the lead before Sam Cosgrove rose to head a late equaliser.

The goal came shortly after the striker was fortunate not to pick up a second booking, but the Dons did have another red card following Lewis Ferguson's lunge in stoppage time.

  7. FULL-TIME Motherwell 2-0 St Mirrenpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Two fine strikes made the different at Fir Park, with James Scott curling the ball into the top corner in the first half and substitute Christopher Long finishing well from a tight angle late on. The home side move four points clear in third place.

  8. Is there another twist in Dingwall?published at 16:45 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Ross County 2-2 St Johnstone

It's a thrilling end to the game, though St Johnstone still look the more likely team to snatch a winner.

Chris Kane has space in the box, but hits the deck as he shoots, and see his effort saved. He feels he was impeded but the referee is unsympathetic.

Another outstanding chance goes a-begging for Hearts as the corner from Ryotaro Meshino is headed towards the back post, where Clevid Dikamona is waiting. However, the defender mistimes his header and ends up thumping the ball into the ground before watching it bounce wide when he really should have comfortably headed home.

  14. End-to-end fare in the Highlandspublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Ross County 2-2 St Johnstone

Good chances for both sides in the closing stages. Saints' Chris Kane has a dipping shot which is not too far away.

Then County's Marcus Fraser latches on to a loose pass, drives into the box, but has his shot saved.

Back it goes to the other end, and Matty Kennedy's near-post effort is tipped wide by County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.

    John Barnes
    BBC Scotland

Liam Polworth has been denied on three occasions by saves from Vaclav Hladky. St Mirren have come into the game in the second half, though, and if it hadn’t been for a headed clearance from Motherwell skipper Peter Hartley, his Buddies counterpart, Kyle Magennis would have equalised with a volley.

  17. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Make that four great chances missed by Christian Doidge.
