    Burnley

Burnley goalscorer Jay Rodriguez speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought we were well in the game and if we take our chances it becomes a different game.

"Just before half-time at 1-0 down we felt we had more opportunities and conceding that second goal was disappointing.

"But at one point we even thought we might get something from the game and that shows what kind of players we have got."

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to Match of the Day: "Chelsea are a good side and they are in top form, credit to them but the second goal was our own doing.

"It was similar to the game we played against Liverpool and the second goal was a killer.

"Our mentality continues to grow and we are creating better standard of chances against these top sides and there’s a growing belief in what we can do, but we can’t commit those mistakes."

On Callum Hudson-Odoi being booked for diving: "I can’t stand diving it is ridiculous, that has to get out of the game.

"Everyone is talking to me about respecting the referees, but players need to respect the game as well."

    FT: Burnley 2-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic speaking to Match of the Day: “It’s my first professional hat-trick so I nearly forgot the match ball, luckily my teammates helped me out!

"I just want to be on the field, help the team and make an impact. I didn’t think it would be super easy. But I have come on a few times the past few weeks and was happy to start today, it was a special day."

On playing alongside other young players: “There are young guys in the team but we forget about that when we go out there. It’s a fun team to play with now and we just want to keep this run going.”

A brilliant performance today. Have a guess which dots were where his goals were scored from.

  9. 'That was beautiful to watch'published at 19:41 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    FT: Burnley 2-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "This is a really tough place to go and the way we controlled the game, our midfield combinations and movement, was beautiful to watch. I really enjoyed watching them today."

On his handling of Christian Pulisic: "He had a week's break this summer. He arrived for a big price and wanted to come straight back in but at the same time why am I going to throw him in? So I have to do it in the right way and get the best out of him. I’m delighted for him."

On making just one change from midweek: "It’s a balance, I always think one, two or three games ahead. But there’s an argument that we are doing okay, they are hungry, and I felt one change was enough today. It’s important we keep our feet on the ground. We played well but we can play better."

On conceding two late goals: "I will be the first to criticise sloppy goals, and they were. But not tonight because of the way they played, their movement on the ball, there were so many great things to admire. I’m not letting that in the dressing room tonight, we came to a really tough place and won comfortably."

  11. 'We just want to keep playing well'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    FT: Burnley 2-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori speaking to Sky Sports: “4-0 looked a lot better than 4-2 and our job as defenders is to keep clean sheets. So it's disappointing to concede two late on and give them a bit of gusto when we should have been comfortable. But it’s still three points.”

On Christian Pulisic’s performance: “I think he has had to bide his time but when he has come in he has done really well. And to score a hat-trick, there’s nothing better and I’m really happy for him.”

On where Chelsea can go this season: “We just want to keep playing well. That’s seven wins on the bounce now so you can’t complain. Winning is a habit and the longer we keep on going, who knows where we can end up. But now we are just focused on the next game.”

Can Chelsea win the title? No.

Liverpool and Manchester City have greater depth and strength in their squads.

I think Frank Lampard has done a fantastic job so far but are they going to be as consistent as Liverpool and Manchester City?

I get that they have won seven on the spin, but Liverpool and Manchester City are just untouchable.

Peter Malath: I am not a Chelsea fan but I always thought Lampard was holding back their best player. Free Pulisic and he will deliver.

Weird game. I wouldn't say the scoreline flatters Chelsea but at the same time Burnley haven't been that bad.

    Andy

Mike 19.17 - from a fellow Spurs fan: Get a grip. Chelsea have spent millions on youth over the last decade so obviously a few are going to come through at some point. Nothing to do with Lampard.

Seven wins in a row for Chelsea in all competitions and a fourth away win for Chelsea this season.

It was the Christian Pulisic show - the 21-year-old American coming of age since his £58million move from Borussia Dortmund.

His first hat-trick and his goals for the club. Credit to Frank Lampard for giving him his first start since the start of August.

Toby Howarth: Is 2019 the class of 92 for Chelsea?

Taku: Nice win but being slack in defending to close out the game is a bit concerning

Kovacic has had a great game today. Great passing and dribbling: he's been turning benign possession into attack all afternoon. Hopefully more to come from him.

A slightly more respectable end for Burnley in the end - probably deserved. Not sure 4-0 was quite right.

But there is no doubt who will take all the headlines - Christian Pulisic.
