It looked to me as though Sterling was offside but it is such a fine margin. The only thing I would say is that is it has probably taken four minutes to come to a decision. Every decision is taking so much time and it is killing games. I think the whole process could be sped up and done a lot quicker.

  2. 'Similar starts to the season'published at 14:44 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    Brighton v Everton (15:00 BST)

Side by side in the table, one point between them. These teams have had similar starts to the season.

Each has had one standout performance in recent weeks. Brighton beat Tottenham 3-0 before the international break, their first home win of the season. Everton got their first win in four attempts last weekend at the expense of West Ham. Now Marco Silva is looking for a first league away win since March.

This game could be decided by a free-kick or a corner; Brighton's Pascal Gross and Everton's Gylfi Sigurdsson have been the top two creators of chances from set-pieces in the Premier League over the past two seasons.

  3. 'Fans can have a beer together'published at 14:43 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

West Ham v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United and West Ham fans should be able to have a beer together, Chris Wilder said earlier this week.

"Many years have passed since it all happened and I actually have big admiration for West Ham with the way they've gone about it in the past," he said.

"I think they are a very similar club to Sheffield United - a working-class club from the east end of London and the supporters want to see them play good football and work hard."

  4. 'An edge to the game'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

West Ham v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

    Simon Brotherton
    BBC commentator

There's bound to be an edge to this game as it's the first Premier League meeting between the sides since West Ham controversially avoided relegation at Sheffield United's expense in 2007.

The Hammers eventually paid a reported £20m to Sheffield United in an out-of-court settlement, having avoided a points deduction for breaching rules on third-party ownership when they signed Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano in August 2006.

Tevez's goals kept the Hammers up of course, while Sheffield United remained outside the top flight until their return this summer.

On the evidence of their performances so far this season, both sides should at least be able to avoid a repeat of that bitter relegation battle 12 years ago.

  5. 'Examples of established clubs'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    Watford v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Robyn Cowen
    BBC Sport commentator

After they were promoted together in 2015, both Watford and Bournemouth have been held up as examples of how to become established in the top flight.

Neither have come close to a genuine relegation battle in their first four seasons but this time may be different if Watford don't pick up their first win soon.

There were encouraging signs in their last match at Tottenham - a game from which they should have taken all three points. They must carry that level of performance into this weekend at Vicarage Road and be more ruthless if they're to avoid being further cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

  6. 'Three points please!'published at 14:40 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    Watford v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Watford need a win.

It's almost November and they still haven't won a league game this season, drawing four to give them four points.

It has left them rock bottom of the table and five points from safety. A win today would move them level with Norwich, who host Manchester United on Sunday.

    Brighton v Everton (15:00 BST)

    Chris Wise

The tale of two Colombians at the Amex. Yerry Mina’s absence for Everton could be a sizeable one. He’s been excellent in recent weeks. His replacement, Mason Holgate, starts his first Premier League game in 13 months.

Brighton bring in Steven Alzate, who was called up to the Colombian Under 23s for the first time this month. His introduction to the first-team this season, along with Aaron Connolly, has given Brighton a far more vibrant feel.

    Watford v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Watford make two changes from the starting line-up for last weekend's draw at Tottenham and both of them are enforced.

Danny Welbeck went off early in that game with a hamstring injury and is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. He is replaced by Gerard Deulofeu. Elsewhere, Adam Masina comes in for the suspended Jose Holebas.

Watford XI: Foster, Janmaat, Kabasele, Cathcart, Dawson, Masina, Clevery, Chalobah, Doucoure, Deulofeu, Pereyra.

Subs: Gomes (GK), Prodl, Mariappa, Gray, Hughes, Quina, Foulquier.

    Watford

There are three changes to the Bournemouth team that drew with Norwich last time out.

There is no place in the line-up for Harry Wilson, or Lewis Cook and Dominic Solanke.

Joshua King returns, as does Jefferson Lerma after injury while there is also a start for summer signing Arnaut Danjuma.

Bournemouth XI: Ramsdale, Smith, S Cook, Ake, Rico, Danjuma, Lerma, Billing, Fraser, King, C Wilson.

Subs: Boruc (GK), Francis, Solanke, Cook, Wilson, Kelly, Mepham.

That was Fernandinho's first Premier League red card since January 2017 vs Burnley.

It was his third at the Etihad - more than any other player in the Premier League since the stadium opened in 2003.

  12. Tevez, Hammers & relegationpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

West Ham v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

"Carlos Tevez! It was bound to be him!"

Remember when the Argentine scored the winner for West Ham against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the last day of the 2006-07 Premier League season? It saved the Hammers from relegation but sent Sheffield United down.

When Tevez was signed on transfer deadline day in 2006 it took everyone by surprise and caused huge controversy from rivals clubs, who claimed foul play over third-party ownership.

Today, with Sheffield United back in the top-flight, there's a chance for some revenge against the club who pulled off a 'great escape'...

  13. 'It's part of the game'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

FT: Man City 3-0 Aston Villa

    Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne speaking to BT Sport: "In the first half maybe we lacked a bit of intensity and the rhythm was not really there, but in the second half we started well and we got a good performance in the end.

"Aston Villa had a couple of counter-attacks, this is going to happen when we play midweek as we did last Tuesday."

On Fernandinho's red card: "It is part of the game, we have a lot of injuries and we coped with it well. Of course it is not nice because you want everyone to be involved."
