    Aston Villa 1-0 Liverpool

    Phil Dawkes
    BBC Sport at Villa Park

Magnificent stuff from Aston Villa. They have battled for every ball, broke with purpose and produced the one meaningful and clinical moment of the match.

Liverpool are out of sorts and lack the self-assurance and quality we've witnessed for 10 unbeaten league games prior to this. As it stands, though, they're somewhat getting away with it thanks to Southampton.

Yes, we've had some notable VAR decisions, but the technology is not the talking point today.

Daniele Fiandaca: Not that it is going to happen, but when was the last time Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool lost while Arsenal won?

Dizz: Brighton got a penalty recently for having a foot stood on. Mane got booked for being the victim of that today. Great consistency VAR

    Sheff Utd 3-0 Burnley

That £10m Sheffield United paid Bournemouth in July for Lys Mousset is proving to be money well spent.

The French striker has been involved in all three of his side's goals against Burnley.

    Man City 0-1 Southampton

Southampton lead at half time in a Premier League game for the first time this season.

Who would have thought that would happen at the defending champions?

  11. Jesus set to make an appearance?published at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2019

    Man City 0-1 Southampton

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Gabriel Jesus was stripped and doing stretches in the technical area when the whistle went for half-time... I think it is safe to say we will be seeing him shortly.

The story of an eventful first half can (almost) be told in shots alone. City have had 13 but have not managed one on target, although nine of their efforts have been blocked.

That stat sums up the way Southampton have been defending their lead, by throwing their bodies at the ball.

    Liverpool losing.

    Manchester City losing.

Leicester City don't play until tomorrow.

This could turn out to be a very, very good day for Chelsea's kids.

Jack Tanner: I wonder how good Newcastle's season would have to be before Steve Bruce got any credit from the fans - top half? European places? League Champions??

Mark Mason: What is going on at Sheffield Utd!!! Did Burnley go in for half-time early?

Former Man Utd striker on Final Score

There was no real significant touch at all and he just goes down trying to gain an advantage. I like Sadio Mane but I don't want to see that creeping into his game.
