    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Everton winger Theo Walcott has showed glimpses of his attacking threat, but has not really got a grip on his defensive duties.

Spurs left-back Ben Davies is not shy in getting forward and his width is causing a tactical problem for the home side. Almost half of Spurs' attacking play has come down that side.

Walcott is trying to drop in more but that is neutralising his ability to get forward.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Lucas Moura drives a low ball into the box following a Tottenham corner. It is cleared but Serge Aurier picks up the ball and aims for the far post but his cross looks to be heading over Jordan Pickford's head before the Everton keeper reacts quickly to push away.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Son Heung-min's shot that was blocked a few minutes ago was the first of any kind we have seen in this game.

    A slow burner.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Son Heung-min has a shot blocked as Tottenham come forward again. The visitors are looking a bit more lively in the final third but nothing the hosts can't handle as yet.

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The game started off really quite sharp but both teams have sussed each other out a little bit and this game has kind of fallen into a pattern. It's up to somebody to try and break that pattern, go and do something different but at the moment when you are in that area of the league it is hard to take a chance. There is a fear that if you are the player or manager that makes a mistake then you will be the one who gets their finger pointed at.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Christian Eriksen spends too long with the ball just outside the Everton box and that gives André Gomes the chance to nip in and steal possession.

Still waiting for this one to spark.

I do admire Pochettino for keeping faith in his players but I cannot for the life of me, understand why he keeps playing Eriksen. He has been so poor! Cant wait for Lo Celso to get a run.

Not much action in either penalty box yet. None at all in fact. Christian Eriksen almost changed that a moment ago though.

So far Tottenham have looked comfortable in position at the back, with Spurs centre-backs Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld having more touches than anyone else on the pitch.

First real foray into the final third for Tottenham as Christian Eriksen tries to find Dele Alli on the edge of the area but the pass is intercepted.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

In recent seasons, Tottenham got the big club treatment from opponents as they sat off them cautiously concerned of their attacking strength.

That's not so much the case this season with Spurs in poor form and Everton are certainly taking the game to the visitors in these early stages.

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Everton's pace in attack is a cause for concern for the Tottenham defence and Theo Walcott leads an attack for the hosts but he sells Andre Gomes short with a pass allowing Spurs to sweep up.

  12. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Route one football almost pays off for Everton as Jordan Pickford pumps the ball down the pitch. Theo Walcott bends his run to beat the offside trap but he is just beaten to the ball by Paulo Gazzaniga.

  13. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Alex Iwobi battles with Serge Aurier to meet a cross but in the end neither player connects with the ball. Positive start by Everton, though.

    Everton v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

Ben Davies is the man leading Spurs out onto the pitch. He's not even being getting in the team recently...

This is only the second time in Tottenham's past 95 league games that their captain hasn't been Harry Kane or Hugo Lloris.

The other time? Jan Vertonghen against Man City in April.

  17. 'The attacking talent we have is incredible'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2019

    FT: Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester goalscorer Jamie Vardy speaking to Match of the Day: "It’s a big result. We have struggled here in the past. We created quite a few chances, we could have probably scored in the first half but we didn’t and we came out strong in the second half. The creativity and attacking talent we have is incredible. We have so many options and it can only benefit us. I am delighted to be at the top [of the goal scoring table] but there is a long way to go yet."

The jaunty sound of Z Cars is echoing around Goodison. That means only one thing... the players are heading out of the tunnel.

Big Kane fan especially for England, but interested to see Spurs without him today. Style of play with that team and formation could be very fluid..

    Raymondo, London

No Kane. This will be interesting. If we score more goals and play better as a team, like before when he was out for a while, real questions have to be asked. Of course Harry is world class, but I have thought for ages that the instruction is always "Pass to Kane first". Which may be the whole morale issue this season, the others may have had enough of it.

  20. 'It's disappointing'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2019

    FT: Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt speaking to Sky Sports: "It's hard to stand here with a loss. I think we defended well but we conceded from a corner which is disappointing. We let two in last week from a corner as well. We had trained for that but unfortunately it went in the back of the net. When we were 1-0 down we knew we had time to get back in the game but unfortunately we let another in. We need to move on to the next game now."
