Roy Hodgson admits Crystal Palace are not blessed with a plethora of strikers and have to "work hard" for goal-scoring chances following the 2-0 loss at home to Leicester City.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says he has "great pride" for his team after securing a "fantastic" three points in the 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

The last 10, 15 minutes has had some really poor play in from both sets of players. In all honesty there was not enough good play for either to deserve to score. These are players who look like they have never played together before. That was one of the poorest 45 minutes I have seen this season.

If this was on a Saturday it would be last on Match of the Day unless things drastically improve.

England boss Gareth Southgate has decided to take in this game and unsurprisingly he is looking a little unimpressed in his seat. He's missing Countryfile for this.

Richarlison does well to hold off Davinson Sanchez inside the box but his shot flashes over the bar. The Brazilian certainly looks the most likely to make something happen for the hosts, though.

Lucas Digne wins a corner for Everton. Tottenham haven't been great at defending set pieces, so can the Toffees do something from this? No, as Digne's outswinger is cleared.

It hasn't been a classic by any stretch of the imagination. I might have to reach for my emergency scotch egg in a minute to inject a bit of excitement into things.

Wondering why we haven't we mentioned Harry Kane? The Spurs striker isn't playing because he is ill.

Wondering why we haven't mentioned Son Heung-min? Because he's barely had a kick.

Richard: Everton and Tottenham are 17th and 13th respectively. This game looks like 13th vs 17th to be honest.

The VAR check is over and play continues. It was never going to be a penalty although Andre Gomes is holding his ribs, so did appear to hurt himself somehow.

A shot on target! The first of the game and a pretty decent one as well as Richarlison brings a cross down inside the box before turning and shooting powerfully but Paulo Gazzaniga is behind it.

Update: there is still very little happening in either box. That Andre Gomes header was only Everton's second touch in the Spurs penalty area after half an hour. Spurs have fared fractionally better with five.

I'll tell you what happened there. Walcott went in with his studs showing but I think he put his foot on the the ball. I don't think he caught Davies. Because he showed his studs the referee has given a free-kick and a yellow card. Martin Atkinson A+ top of the class - that decision is absolutely right.

Christian Eriksen is then shown a yellow card moments later for a foul. Frustrations starting to show as both sides struggle to break each other down.

Theo Walcott catches Ben Davies as the two challenge for the ball and referee Martin Atkinson shows the Everton forward a yellow card.

There's boos from the home fans at the decision, which only get louder when VAR checks for a red card. It isn't given, but Everton supporters are still not happy with the booking in the first place.

Better from Everton. Theo Walcott gets in behind the Tottenham defends and chips the ball to Andre Gomes inside the box but it is a bit too high for the midfielder and he can only head onto the roof of the net.

Tottenham are just starting to exert their authority on this game now following a bright start by Everton. The absence of Harry Kane is felt, however, as a free-kick is sent into the box but it is headed away with little difficulty for the hosts.
