That's brought this game to life after a rather tepid opening. It was a delicious volley by John Lundstram and an outstanding stop by David de Gea. David McGoldrick should have scored - he headed straight at Manchester United's keeper in front of a gaping net.

That was a brilliant double save. The second one was the better of the two. I feel David McGoldrick should have scored. It was a brilliant save but I really think Sheffield United should be 1-0 up now. He will be thinking he should have scored, he was completely unmarked.

And what two remarkable saves from David De Gea!!

First the Spaniard dives to his right to prevent John Lundstram from sweeping in, and seconds later he sticks out a hand to block David McGoldrick's header.

Spectacular!

So far, so good for both teams really.

The visitors have yet to cause the Blades backline any issues - partly due to misplaced passes.

Phil Jones goes flying on to the deck for the first time in this match as he pinches the ball away from the marauding David McGoldrick.

The visitors manage to string a few passes together in the opposition half - bit of pressure on the Blades defence here before George Baldock hoofs the ball away.

A few seconds later John Fleck does well to win back possession.

Battle of the midfields today, methinks.

It's not very good.

The home side win a corner, but about a minute after Lys Mousset went down because of a challenge by Fred.

The summer signing seems OK.

The Blades are on the attack on the left. John Fleck crosses from the left, but the ball eventually goes out for a goal-kick.

Fans have just been treated to a spectacular pre-match lights show at the same time as the big screen shows a montage of Sheffield United goals.

Bramall Lane is bouncing. This time last year the Blades were drawing 2-2 at Rotherham. Now they're hosting Manchester United in front of a raucous sell-out crowd.

Two enforced changes for Sheffield United. Keeper Simon Moore, who played for the Blades in League One in 2016-17, makes his first Premier League start as ever-present Dean Henderson, on loan from Manchester United, is banned from playing against his parent club.

Defender John Egan, another ever-present, also drops out through injury paving the way for Phil Jagielka to make his first top-flight start since returning to the club where he started his career.

What I quite liked was the fact the sprinklers were still on full blast while flames blasted out from the...flame blasters.
