For 70-75 minutes, Manchester Untied were the better team. Tottenham just couldn't get going, they couldn't cope with United's high pressing.

If Manchester United can put that sort of performance in against every team in the league, they'll be well up in the league. The problem is, you just don't know what you're going to get with them.

I also have a little bit of sympathy for Marco Silva. He'll be hurting. No-one was talking to him and it's a really lonely place.

Everton defender Mason Holgate on whether they deserved more out of the game: "To be honest, no. The goals we conceded, we're not happy with. I lost count of how many but they were straight balls over the top. It's not acceptable to concede goals like that. It was route one, direct balls and we should be able to deal with it. That's massively disappointing for me as a defender. It was a quite obvious. It was something we highlighted. We didn't deal with it on the day.

"We have been unlucky in some games but we know the quality we have in our team and it's not acceptable to be where we are."

On how much players take responsibility for defeats: "We take pretty much all of it. The manager has told us what we need to be doing and we have not done that. We played well in patches of the game but route one balls are things we should be dealing with and we have not done that.

"The games are coming thick and fast so we have every chance to turn it around by picking up a win. It's not acceptable where we are now and we know that."

There's enough ability in that Everton squad to do better than they are doing. I've been at clubs where you ask who's going to lead it? What's uncertain there, you hear some players who have to had leave the football club, they are told by Marco Silva to talk to the director of football, then the owner. There's no real clarity, they are all blaming each other.

Bradley: How do you stop this Liverpool team? Could they even go invincible?

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk: "It was very good. Most parts of the game were comfortable, we were very dangerous in behind. It was a well-deserved win.

"The players coming in were fantastic, it's good to see, we will need everyone in this long season. We have to use everyone and they all stepped up.

"Divock Origi was fantastic. A club record is great but we have won nothing yet, we want to go all the way"

Liverpool did their homework, it wasn't just them turning up on the day. They kept turning Everton around and had them square. Everton had no answers to them.

They were pro-active and the players were fantastic on pitch.

Some of the football at the moment is breathtaking, they are playing with such confidence. It's just a great place to come and watch football.

Liverpool

Liverpool striker Divock Origi: "As a team we enjoy it, we love playing for Liverpool. The manager showed trust in me and I tried to repay it. It was an important game, a special game.

"One of our weapons is to go in behind and I had some wonderful service. We know we have a great team and we have to be at our best. Each individual is important."

A back-handed compliment for Manchester United from Jose Mourinho in his press conference.

"United results against the best teams this season have been good. Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester.

"For the way they play it is easier for them. They are not afraid to have a defensive approach.

"It is easier for them against better teams, against teams who want more of the ball."

United had 46% possession - but more shots and more shots on target.

A few Everton fans have remained in their section. Some look close to tears. A really tough night for them, even if they probably expected a defeat tonight.

Too good to go down?

It wasn't a great performance from Everton. Defensively it could have been 7-8, they were outfought, out-battled. They need to find an alternative very, very quickly.

They've got to make a change. With the budget and what they've spent, I don't think they've been left with much choice. A club the size of Everton can't be in the bottom three. They can't risk relegation.

Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to Match of the Day: "A tough game for us. Hayden Mullins had Watford very well organised. We had to be patient this evening and worked very hard for that but I thought we deserved it.

"The fans have been brilliant since I first came into here. They have taken on board the style we are trying to play. When you face teams that sit in deep you have to have that patience.

"Jamie Vardy is absolutely fantastic. I thought he should have a penalty in the first half. I don't know why that was overturned. In the current rules that is normally given but it wasn't. We gathered our composure and continued to work away to get the goal.

"Ben Foster made some great saves tonight. We were unfortunate not to score more. We had to defend well, even if they did not have a shot on target until late on. We managed the game very well.

"A real team effort tonight and to get seven wins on the spin in the Premier League is a great achievement. The team is developing and are proving they have a winning mentality and mindset.

"We will do our best [to stay in the top two], we fight and work and see where it takes us."

Ouch.

Michael Brown says Everton have no choice but to sack Marco Silva. Thoughts?

Watford

Watford caretaker manager Hayden Mullins: "I think up until the penalty we were in the game and even after it we were still in the game. We have come away from home to a team that has done really, really well and put a performance in.

"What I saw tonight was a side in us that came away from home and showed good levels of fitness, good intelligence on the field, put in a great performance and took it right to the wire. Loads of positives.

"The boys have responded fantastically well. So proud of what they did tonight."

On the penalty decision for Leicester's first: "I didn't see it in real time. With the VAR check it went on for a long time and it told me they were umming and ahhing it. For how long it took it may have been a soft one but I didn't see it."

That's 32 league games unbeaten for Liverpool. Marco Silva looks a broken man.
