  1. 'Not good to be crying about mistakes'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Man Utd 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport...

On Dele Alli: "Dele is fine, he gave a good performance and tried everything, even in the second half when it's more difficult and they are more compact."

On Rashford: "When he plays from the left he is really dangerous and I knew that and gave the players the best information about it. His first goal is a typical Rashford goal coming on the inside. Our boys knew that clearly.

"It's a step back against a team that is playing with same objective as us. Trying to get up the table and reach the top six. We need to keep going. We made mistakes but it's not good to be crying about them now, we have a difficult match on Saturday [Burnley at home]."

On his reception: "It was nice, polite, educated and what I was expecting."

  2. 'I can't believe he's missed'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Liverpool 4-2 Everton

Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra

I can't believe he's missed. It's another slick move, they've been looking for a counter-attack. He has time to look, maybe Wijnaldum is in his way, but he's hit it just wide of the post.

  3. SITTER!published at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Liverpool 4-2 Everton

What a chance! Again, Liverpool hurt Everton on the counter as Jordan Henderson clips one into Sadio Mane's run. His touch to bring the ball down is Origi-esque, but with just Jordan Pickford to beat he slides a shot wide from 10 yards.

    Got to be scoring those!

  4. 'We were sleeping at the throw-in'published at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Man Utd 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport: "We started the second half with a goal that it is impossible to concede.

"We were not alert, sleeping at the throw-in and we let [Marcus] Rashford attack. Once he is inside the box it's more difficult to defend and he was clever and waited for the touch.

"In the first half they started more aggressive and more intense and deserved to be in front, maybe even 2-0, then we took control of the game.

"The goal at the start of the second half gave United the chance to play the way they did."

  5. Postpublished at 21:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Liverpool 4-2 Everton

Liverpool haven't had a shot on target in the second half, they haven't really needed to I suppose but it's Everton who are attacking at the moment as we approach the last 10 minutes.

  6. How the table looks...published at 21:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

This is how the top of the table looks - Liverpool eight points above Leicester (and 11 above Manchester City) if they see this Everton game out.

And if you case your eyes 17 places further down the table, there are Everton, who are set to drop into the relegation zone.

  7. 'We deserved at least a draw'published at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Southampton 2-1 Norwich City

    Norwich City

Norwich City boss Daniel Farke told BBC Sport: "We always have to be on our best level because in the first half it was not great from us. We said we had to stick to our principals, but conceded two goals from set pieces and in the second half we went back to the our principals.

"It was a really good reaction in the second half but it is important to play this way for 90 minutes. I would be concerned if we don't show any reaction, but we showed a great reaction and in the end we deserved at least a draw and had good chances but were unlucky we were not able to equalise.

"I'm a bit more annoyed in the first half we weren't brave enough. We need to stick to our plan, they did not play us out of the park, they didn't have chances in the first half apart from two set pieces."

Everton fans did not like that Schneiderlin change. Not exactly progressive, albeit perhaps pragmatic.

Stop making this about Jose Mourinho, that's what he wants. Glad to see the back of him at OT and wish I never had to hear about him again

Adam Lallana did OK. He got in some positions but you'd expect him to create a little bit. Once Everton went to 4-4-2 there were a few more gaps for him to work in.

This will give Divock Origi another confidence boost too.

I think it's fair to say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enjoyed that.

He responded to 'his' song being belted out by the Stretford with a fist pump.

The Manchester United manager has been under a huge amount of pressure and will enjoy tonight.

Maybe not too much though. It's a trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

Overcomer: Liverpool will win the premier league title for the first time in the season VAR was first introduced.

Aigle79: Rare to see a Jose team lose so meekly, especially for so early in his term. He’s got a job ahead of him and I respect him for taking it on. Pep wouldn’t lower himself to a 3rd/4th place team.

Ar vind: Marco Silva must be wondering why Everton players don’t show this commitment every week

  15. 'We could have scored more'published at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa

    Chelsea

Chelsea match-winner Mason Mount: "We knew the performance against West Ham wasn't good enough, we knew we had to win more matches at home and be dominant.

"We did that, won more tackles and second balls, and we could have scored more goals.

"It fell to me and me and Tammy spoke about that, that he would set me if he didn't have space."

  18. 'Hardest we've had to work'published at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Man Utd 2-1 Spurs

    Manchester United

Manchester United's two-goal hero Marcus Rashford: "This is the hardest we've had to work to get a result. The position we're in now, we want these games. We want to show people we can play against top teams.

"We had a lot of shots, I wouldn't say clear-cut chances, the keeper made a few good saves. Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't. Today they didn't, but we ground it out. Happy times always to play in front of the home fans."

On a long wait to take his penalty...

"You try to stay calm. With VAR it's a while before you can take the spot-kick."

  19. Postpublished at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2019

    Liverpool 4-2 Everton

Xherdan Shaqiri had only played 11 minutes in the Premier League all season before tonight but he's looked as slick as anyone - a great early ball over the top sends Sadio Mane in but he can't ever quite get it under control.
