Arsenal then look to get Aubameyang in but the ball forward is cut out.

And now West Ham are all over the place and Arsenal are bouyant. The Hammers look jittery at the back as Xhaka leads a drive forward, but the home side escape as Angelo Ogbonna is fouled.

I know it is easy to say from where I am sat, but why has it taken until now and this for Arsenal to show any urgency?

Out of absolutely nothing. West Ham have had a vulnerability at the back for a long tome now.

It's a clever cut back and Gabriel Martinelli just strolls onto it from 10 yards and it's a composed finish. Arsenal do not deserve anything but they are level.

Now what? Is this the spark the Gunners need? Will it break West Ham?

I'm not placing any bets, I can tell you that.

Arsenal look like a side completely devoid of confidence.

I don't know where it will come from but they badly need a bit of good fortune - the kind of deflection that led to West Ham's goal.

Aubameyang's run and cross to no-one epitomises their play at present.

Arsenal do not deserve anything and I do not care if they end up winning this game. Their performance has been disgraceful.

Nothing is working for the Gunners. Aubameyang gets into a good spot down the left but just as he swings his boot through the ball to cross, it takes a bobble, forcing the striker to smack his delivery out of play.

There is only one side looking likely to get another goal here and that is West Ham. They drive forward again and the ball is fed into the middle for Declan Rice to drive a shot that Bernd Leno drops to his left to save.

Granit Xhaka has bottled that. He turns his back on the ball and it's not on. You are paid thousands of pounds a week.

Can you imagine a Martin Keown or a Tony Adams to do that? They would have him by the neck.
