    West Ham 1-3 Arsenal

This is why we love football, though. West Ham fans won't agree right now, but it is the sports capacity to chuck this at you that means you can't help falling in love with it.

    That is incredible.

I was talking about Arsenal needing some luck. They didn't have luck particularly but that three-goal burst has come from absolutely nowhere.

Now the pressure is on Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini, whose decision to take off Felipe Anderson was booed by the home fans.

You just couldn't make this up. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was off his feet and it's a brilliant volley. If you're an Arsenal fan you would be asking why they did not start like this?

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    I give up.

How has this happened? Where was this Arsenal hiding?

The Gunners cut West Ham apart again, with Ozil finding Pepe on the right and his cross finding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fire in on the turn.

The Gunners are going wild. West Ham's players don't know where to look.

Hamish: Only West Ham could lose to this Arsenal side

Andy: This is the weakest opposition West Ham have faced in months, and we're behind and on our way to a heavy defeat. Again. Pellegrini surely can't survive this.

Josh: What a strike from Pepe, might shut the critics up for a bit

Manuel Pellegrini looks shell-shocked. I'm not surprised. He won't be the only one who won't have seen this coming.

    West Ham 1-2 Arsenal

What a goal this is. Absolutely top, top drawer.

He chops back on his left foot and he sizzles a shot into that far top corner. Precision from Pepe.

Arsenal do not deserve to be back in this but somehow they are in front. What a turnaround.

  8. goal

GOAL - West Ham 1-2 Arsenalpublished at 66 mins

    Nicolas Pepe

It's a ridiculous game is football.

Awful for 60 minutes, leading after 65.

It's another belting goal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gathers the ball on the edge of the box, turns and feeds it wide right for Nicolas Pepe, who takes a touch, cuts inside and curls a superb effort beyond David Martin and in.

    Like I said, ridiculous.

Agada: One quality move, one quality goal from a quality talent, Martinelli

  10. Postpublished at 65 mins

    West Ham 1-1 Arsenal

    It's anyone's game.

West Ham half-heartedly call for a penalty as Antonio goes down in the box. No chance.

Arsenal then look to get Aubameyang in but the ball forward is cut out.

  11. Postpublished at 64 mins

    West Ham 1-1 Arsenal

And now West Ham are all over the place and Arsenal are bouyant. The Hammers look jittery at the back as Xhaka leads a drive forward, but the home side escape as Angelo Ogbonna is fouled.

I know it is easy to say from where I am sat, but why has it taken until now and this for Arsenal to show any urgency?

  12. 'Composed'published at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2019

    West Ham 1-1 Arsenal

    Chris Sutton
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Out of absolutely nothing. West Ham have had a vulnerability at the back for a long tome now.

It's a clever cut back and Gabriel Martinelli just strolls onto it from 10 yards and it's a composed finish. Arsenal do not deserve anything but they are level.

  13. Postpublished at 62 mins

    West Ham 1-1 Arsenal

Now what? Is this the spark the Gunners need? Will it break West Ham?

I'm not placing any bets, I can tell you that.

  14. goal

GOAL - West Ham 1-1 Arsenalpublished at 60 mins

    Gabriel Martinelli

    Would you believe it?

They've not been in the game, a shambles. But out of nowhere, the Gunners are level.

It is a fine goal to be fair. Sead Kolasinac's cross from the left falls perfectly for Gabriel Martinelli, who makes no mistake with a clinical finish.

    This kid scores goals.

  15. Arsenal need a breakpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2019

    West Ham 1-0 Arsenal

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the London Stadium

Arsenal look like a side completely devoid of confidence.

I don't know where it will come from but they badly need a bit of good fortune - the kind of deflection that led to West Ham's goal.

Aubameyang's run and cross to no-one epitomises their play at present.

  16. 'Disgraceful'published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2019

    West Ham 1-0 Arsenal

Arsenal do not deserve anything and I do not care if they end up winning this game. Their performance has been disgraceful.

  17. Postpublished at 58 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Arsenal

Nothing is working for the Gunners. Aubameyang gets into a good spot down the left but just as he swings his boot through the ball to cross, it takes a bobble, forcing the striker to smack his delivery out of play.

  18. Postpublished at 57 mins

    West Ham 1-0 Arsenal

There is only one side looking likely to get another goal here and that is West Ham. They drive forward again and the ball is fed into the middle for Declan Rice to drive a shot that Bernd Leno drops to his left to save.

Granit Xhaka has bottled that. He turns his back on the ball and it's not on. You are paid thousands of pounds a week.

Can you imagine a Martin Keown or a Tony Adams to do that? They would have him by the neck.

Ollie: Arsenal are getting some criticism, I know, but surely nowhere near enough. I am gobsmacked. This is one of the worst performances I've ever seen by any football team.

Alistair: Sean Dyche - probably taken Burnley as far as he could. He would demand passion and can organise a defence... Also has handy experience in the Championship.
