VAR checked that for encroachment but we're all OK. That's certainly got the crowd going anyway. Not heard noise like this since Jessica Ennis was on the 800m.

  11. 'We deserved more'published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Newcastle 1-2 Everton

    Newcastle United

Newcastle fullback DeAndre Yedlin: "I think we deserved a bit more from the game. We got back into and got on top of them a bit and pushed for the second goal. It is tough with this period over Christmas. I don't know how many games in how many days but it is ridiculous.

"We are disappointed. We are more disappointed that we had worked our way back into the game but gave up the second goal.

"I think we have exceeded what many people expected of us but I don't think we feel that ourselves. We have a good team with good players and we can go out and get good results."

    Norwich 0-0 Tottenham

Christian Eriksen links up with Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen before moving into the centre. He's finding little pockets of space but there's not much room to break through Norwich's back four. He has a pop from long range instead and hits it straight into Christoph Zimmermann.

  13. 'It's disappointing to concede'published at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy: "It's really frustrating. I thought we did just enough to come away with three points, it's disappointing to concede the goal.

"Once we went a goal up, I thought we didn't pass the ball as well as we wanted, that's disappointing as a team. I thought we defended well and as a unit to make sure we came away with at least a point."

On their goal: "Luka [Milivojevic] works on those crosses day in day out. He's different class at them. It's bittersweet to only come away with a point."

On the tight turnaround: "Everyone is in the same boat, but it's a quick turnaround. We rest up now and go again on New Year's day but as a squad we'll be ready to go again. It's disappointing with all the injuries but we'll go again."
