Newcastle 1-2 Everton
Newcastle United
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, speaking to MOTD: "I thought we were unfortunate. We made mistakes, we made mistakes for the games against Man Utd. To be fair the referee made a mistake today which I didn't expect him to do. They scored from a corner which shouldn't have been a corner. It is by the by. I don't think we deserved to lose. We were caught by a suckerpunch when we were going for the game.
"A fit Andy Carroll is going to be an asset to us. He did his bit today. Good to see.
"Calro Ancelotti is a top, top class manager. For whatever reason they were short of confidence a month ago but they are not now. They have good players all over the pitch.
"We have done OK. It is the first time since August we suffered back to back defeats. We have given ourselves a good platform for the second half of the season. We hope we can stay a little more injury free and let's see what we can do in the second half of the season."
West Ham United v Leicester City (17:30 GMT)
Here come the (much-changed) sides...
Newcastle 1-2 Everton
Everton
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, speaking to MOTD about what pleased him most about the game: "The victory. We are judged for the result. I thought we did good for the first 20 minutes. We need to have more control in the second part of the first half but we came back in the second half.
"I think at the end we deserved to win. I saw a team with a fantastic spirit. I saw that before I arrived, the job Duncan Ferguson did was fantastic. After that we just tried to play football because we are paid to play football.
"We don't have to look at the table too much, we have to look to the next game."
Watford 3-0 Aston Villa
Watford
Watford manager Nigel Pearson to BBC Sport: "We couldn’t afford to lose. Must-win is something I’m not overly keen on putting into the players yet. The important thing is to get the performance right. We showed good intensity. We showed incredible unity on the pitch and bench. We have to make sure that remains high on our agenda – to keep the players together.
"I thought in the first half we were pretty dominant so it’s important we continue to try to build on that first-half performance. We expected Villa to improve in the second half and to a certain extent they did. To extend the lead with 10 men is something positive.
"Troy Deeney relishes the pressure. Hopefully it will be infectious. In our situation we know it will be a difficult task to get ourselves into A position where we’re more comfortable. We’re still having to find answers to rectify our situation. If we show our level of unity and performance, we can make progress.
"It’s a case of trying to rectify the first part of our season. Momentum is important."
On playing on with Villa player Matt Targett injured to win a penalty...
"It was a debatable situation but our players were entitled to keep playing because Villa decided not to put the ball out. I'm not talking about Deeney [being kept onside by Targett], I’m talking about the fact they didn’t put the ball out. They continued to attack when their player was down."
West Ham v Leicester (17:30 GMT)
West Ham United are paying tribute to the late Martin Peters, who died aged 76 last week.
The Hammers are celebrating the life of one of their finest players, who also starred in England's 1966 World Cup victory.
Former Hammers team-mates Sir Geoff Hurst and Brian Dear will pay their own personal tributes to Peters, while a video montage of the visionary midfielder's finest moments will also be played on big screens at London Stadium.
A floral shirt tribute will be carried out to centre spot before a one-minute applause in celebration of the achievements of one of West Ham and England’s finest-ever players.
Newcastle 1-2 Everton
Everton
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti: "I am happy. The team played well. I am pleased, it was a difficult game. We started really well, Newcastle pushed a lot but we won showing a good performance. The team is improving and that is important.
"The players are trying to adapt, they want to change a lot. The job Duncan Ferguson did was fantastic. The spirit was strong when we arrived.
"Dominic Calvert-Lewin is playing really well. The second goal was a big part of Richarlison. It doesn't matter if you score or not it important to work as a team and they did.
"We want to play games, good games, try to play well. This is our goal. Of course the table is important but we have to focus on the next game. We need to have confidence because we have won. The last result for the team was good. We have to try our play our best."
Norwich v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)
A quick change for Norwich. Substitute keeper Ralf Fahrmann picks up an injury in the warm-up so drops out of the squad.

Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace
Southampton
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl speaking to Match of the Day: "It's a more than deserved point. We had the much bigger chances today and it was a good save from Moussa Djenepo.
"We kept on believing, we knew it was a difficult game against this opponent when you're 1-0 down because they sit deep. The subs gave us a little bit boost, particularly Moussa Djenepo on the left.
"Danny Ings was very calm. We could feel that we could turn the game completely after that but we're not unhappy with the point. It was similar to the game here last season against them. I felt the equaliser was deserved."
On the goal his side conceded: "It was a distance where you can't be sure if he's going to shoot or put it into the box. We were three against four in the box so it wasn't easy."
On playing twice in two days: "You only have one day to rest. It's unbelievable, we couldn't prepare anything for this game. I don't know what this schedule is about, we had no sessions to work on anything. For this reason, I think we did a good game. Mentally and physically, what the guys did today, was really tough. We were the better team and kept trying till the last minute.
"I think it's not necessary to play today. If we don't play till Wednesday again why don't we just play Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday. I know Saturday is a big day for football but it's not necessary."

Newcastle 1-2 Everton
Everton
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, speaking to Sky Sports: "For me personally I am enjoying my football as you can see but for the lads it has been a great period and a great month. We have got that togetherness back in the team.
"We are getting back to where we want to be after a below par start. It was not good enough and it was vitally important we turned it around. We wanted first to get into that middle cluster and go beyond that."
On Carlo Ancelotti: "He is a fantastic manager who has worked with great players and for me as a young player it is the best possible experience. I just have to be like a sponge and take it all in."
On his goals: "i am just happy to hit the back of the net. That is what I am there to do. The work doesn't stop for me now."
Congratulations to the Vardy family!

Watford 3-0 Aston Villa
Watford
Watford striker Troy Deeney: "Loved it. It's been a whirlwind week. Getting our first win, having a baby and then going off to Sheffield United.
"I was sloppy at Sheffield so wanted to make a point today. Playing Aston Villa is extra special, I always get a lovely warm welcome here.
"The biggest key was unity. Everyone struggles over Christmas but we've done it with 10 men. This is one for the fans to see out this year. We go again in a few days.
"[The win was] nothing to do with me. Great team performance. Ismaila Sarr was different gravy."
On his penalty...
"I was going the side the keeper went but he went a step too early so I put it down the centre."
Might stick a fiver on Watford to win the league under Ranieri.

Dennis Ethan: Nigel Pearson doing what he's best at. No way Watford are getting relegated.
FT: Watford 3-0 Aston Villa
Alex Scott
Ex-England international on Final Score
Troy Deeney makes such a difference for Watford. He's a character, and leader of the team. He galvanised the team today. They showed heart and determination. Even with 10 men they controlled and organised the game. Aston Villa looked like they were feeling sorry for themselves. I couldn't even say it was a team, they looked like a group of individuals. There is no connection from Villa's players.
Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur (17:30 GMT)
Steve Bower
Match of the Day commentator
When looking for slight improvements since Jose Mourinho's arrival, Tottenham's away form falls into that category.
It's two wins from three so far after a previous run of 12 on the road without a victory.
Defensive stability isn't yet on the same list though, which will give Norwich some encouragement. After 10 defeats in their last 14 matches can the Canaries find the levels that saw them beat the champions and hold Arsenal at Carrow Road?
The challenge is proving as tough as predicted for the team that begin the weekend bottom of the table.
Fourth place is still very much in sight for Tottenham, and for those aspirations to be maintained this is a fixture they have to be winning.
FT: Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace
Southampton
Souhampton striker Danny Ings: "We're unbeaten in three now which is huge for us a team so hopefully we can move forward from that.
"This season has been very up and down for us, but the last three games, I feel like that's the demands we've got to try and do. We've come a long way, that's the level we need to be at."
On his sides struggles to break Crystal Palace down: "It's hard, they sat in and made it difficult for us. They're compact and hard to break down so that's probably why we didn't get as much joy. In the end, it's another point so we can't complain."
On his recent great form: "It's because of a lot of hard work, I graft every day to be the best that I can. I try and look out for defensive mistakes and I've scored quite a few goals from that this season. I'm here, I'm enjoying my football again. I'm at a club where I feel like I'm loved by the fans and club."

Paul Cate: Promotion was a poisoned chalice for Dean Smith. The Premier League was always going to be difficult, and some very fickle Aston Villa 'fans' are turning on him. These same 'fans' were singing his praises when we were five minutes away from beating Liverpool.
FT: Watford 3-0 Aston Villa
Here's what that victory has done for Watford. They sit three points away from safety. They could do with improving that goal difference too but all good stuff so far from Nigel Pearson and co.
