Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to MOTD: "I think we were punished by our defensive mistakes. We started playing beautifully in the second half but we conceded a really, really bad second goal.

"Of course it concerns me [defensive mistakes]. We are speaking about individual mistakes. That's hard and obviously a bad feeling because the team is working so hard.

"It's disappointing that we concede goals the way we concede. We are giving away too much."

West Ham United

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini, speaking to BBC Match Of The Day: "We have to play a home game in another way. We needed to to press high from the beginning but we didn't do it. We got to 1-1 with good play, but in the second half we didn't have the ideas to create the difference.

"We finished last season well and started this well. After this the injury to Lukasz Fabianski was important to us because we lost points, confidence and the trust to play.

"The fans are the most important thing. This stadium has a full capacity and they deserve a better performance. I think the players want to do it, but there is pressure and lack of confidence. Of course I have the confidence we can do it better. We need to recover some of the best performances of important players. Here at home we need to improve."

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is a no-nonsense manager and he will let his players know when it isn't great so will get the chance for that over the next 15 minutes. On the whole Burnley did well but the odd mistake against players of Manchester United's quality and you will be punished.

That half certainly needed a goal.

For a long while it looked like the discovery of some unaccounted for Christmas Day sweets at the bottom of my bag was going to be most exciting thing to happen in that 45 minutes.

Burnley have had just one shot on target in almost four hours of football. They certainly need to show a bit more attacking intent in the second half.

Manchester United have the lead at the break after a mistake by Charlie Taylor and a good finish by Anthony Martial.

All that hard work from Burnley and it's a slip from Charlie Taylor that costs them. He doesn't deal with the ball and after that it's a simple job. It's the only real opening that Manchester United have created but it's come from a Burnley defensive error. They had been diligent and disciplined until that point so it's frustrating for them. Chances like that are meat and drink for Anthony Martial and he produces a tidy finish.

Big opportunity missed for Burnley to draw level before the break.

Space all over the place as Manchester United go on the hunt for an immediate second.

It is three on two as Anthony Martial has Andreas Pereira and Marcus Rashford for company as the visitors attack but his attempt to slip in Pereira is cut out.

Ashley Westwood volleys an excellent ball forward from inside his own half and Ashley Barnes is, momentarily in on goal, but he hesitates as he shapes to shoot and his angle to goal is cut off by his marker and he thumps his strike wide.

It’s actually fantastic defending by Ben Mee. Brandon Williams again got space on the left and put in a fantastic ball.

Mee just did enough to stop Martial from getting to the ball.

Ouch!

Nick Pope slipped on the line as he got himself ready for any Manchester United player lurking to turn in that Brandon Williams cross.

That's game over for Pope by the look of it. Joe Hart is getting ready to come on for his first Premier League appearance of the season.

Brandon Williams gets in a good low cross from the left that is behind the Burnley defence and begging to be turned in but there's no Manchester United player there.

It's a fantastic block on the line by Phil Bardsley. He found himself in the goal after the initial ball had gone over the top of him.

Martial smashed it from six yards. It’s a block any goalkeeper would have been proud of.

Phil Bardsley has had 21 touches of the ball, the most by a Burnley player so far in this game. Not at all surprised. It feels like he has been everywhere.

Luke Travell: Am I the only Man Utd fan that rates Fred? I know it's taken him a while to settle in, but I recon he will be fantastic next season.
