Why doesn't the referee go over to the pitch side monitor as soon as a VAR check goes to Stockley Park. Paul Tierney could have seen the incident for himself and sent Auba off in half the time it took the VAR team.

    Martin, Sussex

Loving all these tweets and texts praising VAR for getting that spot on, and making sure justice was done. Oh wait...

    Tattz, Harborne

Could we please get back to a game without VAR. nobody wants it. It is ruining the game. It was suppose to be brought in to get rid of refereeing mistakes. But it is just worst. I would have like to see if the red card would have been overturned if it was a Liverpool player who had made the challenge.

This has been a cracking derby.

Both teams are leaving everything out there.

Credit to Palace for fighting back after such a tepid first half performance.

It looked like he got a little finger-tip to the shot so possibly an unbelievable first save and then the bravery on the second is exactly what you want from your keeper.

Another yellow but should it have been a red?

James Tomkins flies into Gabriel Martinelli at 100mph.

    Arsenal are unhappy it's not 10 v 10.

    Incredible!

10-man Arsenal so close to taking the lead for a second time as Pepe's attempt from an angle clatters off a post to Alexandre Lacazette whose attempt is blocked by Vicente Guaita at point blank range.

    Brilliant goalkeeping by Guaita.

No wins in four league and FA Cup games for Palace.

One win in four Premier League games for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

I don't envy Palace fans watching this every week. All their players hitting the ground every time they feel touch is very tedious and unworthy of a Hodgson side.

Arsenal just about survive as James Tomkins' close-range header is hooked off the line by Sokratis. Palace think there was a handball but Paul Tierney is not interested.

Three yellow cards and one red. The first London derby of 2020 was never going to be a friendly affair was it?

In the crowd away to our right there was a banner that read 'End VAR'. That disappeared very quickly when that yellow card was upgraded to a red.

Sometimes you just want to have your cake and eat it.

It's worth pointing out that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's challenge on Max Meyer was not malicious. The Palace player was simply too quick and the challenge was badly mis-timed.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the third Arsenal player to score and be sent off in the same Premier League match - and first since Mikel Arteta v Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in October 2013.

The VAR was perfect. It was a bad decision for the referee and it's done it's job there.

But the atmosphere in the stadium when the tackle was shown - the change and the abuse he was getting as he went off, it just completely changed the atmosphere.
