    Jan Bednarek

Southampton score, and it's not Danny Ings with it!

James Ward-Prowse swings a free-kick into the box that skips through a whole load of bodies and finds Jan Bednarek, who side-foots a perfect lofted effort over Rui Patricio and in.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Arsenal 0-0 Sheff Utd

Great chance for Arsenal as Nicolas Pepe bursts forward down the right. He crosses to the arriving Gabriel Martinelli but his first-time shot flies wide of the far post.

That was a warning for Sheffield United, who were starting to press higher up the pitch.

    Southampton 0-0 Wolves

Adama Traore - a big man who has been packing a punch for Wolves this season. He goes close with a shot that is narrowly wide. Nice dreads too.

    Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace

Sergio Aguero's shot is blocked six yards out from goal before Ilkay Gündogan smashes well over the bar as Manchester City keep the Crystal Palace defence busy.

    Southampton 0-0 Wolves

Southampton yet to really get going here. A cross into the box is well-taken by Rui Patricio.

  6. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 0-0 Bournemouth

Philip Billing puts his boot through the ball from 25 yards. His shot is travelling but it is also rising and it clears the bar by some distance. Relatively quiet start to this big clash at the bottom, perhaps reflective of the fear of defeat.

    Arsenal 0-0 Sheff Utd

Lovely ball in by Enda Stevens, who cuts out a clearance before crossing into the area. Lys Mousset gets on the end of it but heads over. Should have at least got that on target.

    Brighton 0-0 Aston Villa

Brighton come forward again and draw Reina into his first bit of action. The keeper has to dart out to punch to prevent the ball falling to Trossard in the box.

    Brighton 0-0 Aston Villa

Brighton almost capitalise on some ponderous defending from Villa as the away side's inability to clear leads to Neal Maupay seizing possession before firing over.

Aubameyang always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Lacazette is possibly a better all-round player but he needs to add that instinctive element to his game.

    West Ham 0-0 Everton

An early test for Jordan Pickford as Robert Snodgrass bends a shot at goal from the edge of the area but it is a straight at the Everton keeper.

  12. 'It's been a bit scrappy'published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    West Ham 0-0 Everton

    Matt Upson
Former England and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

You can tell the ball is a little bit lose. I thought that West Ham would start immediately pressing like they did against Sheffield United. Instead the game has been a bit slow and and a bit scrappy.

    Southampton 0-0 Wolves

Wolves start brightly and almost carve out an opening as Neto's cross finds Jonny but his control off his chest is too heavy and Saints can clear.

  14. Postpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Arsenal 0-0 Sheff Utd

First chance of the game goes Arsenal's way as a ball from the left goes through to an unmarked Nicolas Pepe but he hits his shot into the ground and that takes a lot of the sting out of it. Comfortable save for Dean Henderson.

  15. Postpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 0-0 Bournemouth

Early chance for Bournemouth as Ryan Fraser's cross if glanced towards goal by Callum Wilson. Straight at Tim Krul, who saves.

It is an effort on target, though, and Wilson has not had many of them of late.

Manchester City pressing early doors, as you'd expect, as a Benjamin Mendy cross flies just over Raheem Sterling's head.

  19. 'On another day we would have won'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Watford 0-0 Tottenham

    Watford

Watford manager Nigel Pearson talking to BT Sport: "First and foremost we are trying to get a performance every time we play.

"They started the game well. We couldn't press them like we would like to but towards the end of the first half in the second half we started to create some really good chances.

"We could have won it, could have lost it. We know the margins are very small.

"As long as you go into the game with positive intent and get a committed performance we know we have the ability and the tools in the box to get enough results, but we have to do that week in, week out.

"I said to the players that I was really pleased with the way we approached this game and on another day we would have won it."

Palace’s players have just been practising their shooting, and for good reason.

Roy Hodgson’s side are the joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League with 20 goals from 22 games so far this season and, along with Watford, they are one of only two top-flight teams not to manage a league goal from outside the area in 2019-20.

The Eagles did of course manage one spectacular strike from distance when they last played here in December 2018 but - sadly for them - Andros Townsend, who smashed home a brilliant volley in their famous 3-2 win, is out injured at the moment.

Who has got their shooting boots on today?
