    Reading 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro seemed to enjoy that Kim Little goal judging by his reaction on the replay.

Plenty of smiles and high-fives all round from the Gunners' coaching team.

Just over five minutes to go until half-time and Reading need something to haul themselves back into this one.

  2. goal

GOAL: Reading 0-2 Arsenalpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Kim Little (37 mins)

Arsenal well on top now as Kim Little nets their second.

Great interplay after a corner around the Reading box and Little finishes it off with a brilliant chest down and then lobbed volley into the far corner.

Reading stunned after being the better side for the first 25 minutes.

Liverpool v West Ham is back under way and so too, soon, will be Tottenham v Brighton in our other 14:00 GMT kick-off.

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Reading nearly punished again by Vivianne Miedema as a Maz Pacheco back pass is short.

Grace Moloney has to rush off her line to clear it and Miedema almost charged it down and diverted it towards goal.

It goes safely out for a throw-in to the hosts' relief.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Reading 0-1 Arsenal

Jade Moore sees yellow for Reading after what appeared at first to be a very nasty challenge on Lia Walti.

Studs were showing, but Moore might well have been saved there by only slight contact.

How do Reading force their way back after starting the brighter of these sides?

  7. goal

GOAL: Reading 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Vivianne Miedema (28 mins)

Well, she doesn't need that many chances to score does she?

Arsenal have barely had a sniff in this game so far, but Vivianne Miedema only needs half of one to find the back of the net.

Reading punished seemingly out of nothing as Danielle van de Donk threads Miedema in to space and she dinks it over Grace Moloney with ease from just inside the box.

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

First real sight this afternoon of Vivianne Miedema for Arsenal and it's taken until the 26th minute for her to find space for a shot.

Such is the effectiveness of Reading's defensive shape, she's been forced to have a go from way out and the ball goes high and wide as a result.

  10. Highlights: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester Citypublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

Chelsea came from behind to beat fellow title contenders Manchester City earlier - watch the highlights below.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Liverpool 0-1 West Ham

The first half ends with Kenza Dali striking a free-kick well from 20 yards, but it's comfortably saved by Liverpool keeper Fran Kitching.

It's her error that separates the sides. She really should've saved Adriana Leon's tame close-range shot in the opening few minutes, but could only spoon the ball into the net.

Both sides can, and hopefully will, be better.

  12. Postpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

More corners forced by Reading as their high press continues to prove effective.

Lots of bodies in the box crowding Manuela Zinsberger for room in the Arsenal goal, but Jade Moore takes an unfortunate ball to the face from her team-mate's own delivery.

Not one she'll want to see again!

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Brighton

Not a lot to report from the first half at The Hive.

Brighton's Lea Le Garrec tried her luck from long range in the closing seconds of the half but Becky Spencer was equal to it between the posts for Spurs.

  14. Postpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Liverpool 0-1 West Ham

Two minutes of injury time before half-time in what has not been a classic encounter at Prenton Park.

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal growing into this now.

Lisa Evans finds acres of space out on the right and she tries to slide in a low ball to the penalty box.

Kim Little was running in to meet it, but it's a great sliding block from Angharad James to clear it for Reading.

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

Reading definitely the brighter starters in this one after forcing a few corners.

Arsenal not quite able to get a foothold in these first 12 minutes or so, but will the Royals be ruing that early miss from Fara Williams already?

    Liverpool 0-1 West Ham

During a period of Liverpool pressure, it's West Ham who almost score a second.

It's a sin to allow Katharina Baunach time and space, but the Liverpool defence does and she crosses superbly with that wand of a left foot.

Martha Thomas beats Liverpool keeper Fran Kitching to the ball but her header goes wide.

  18. Postpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

It's a birthday appearance for Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs today, who much to the surprise of Red Button summariser Jayne Ludlow, is 27 today.

Wales boss Jayne confesses that makes her feel a bit old after remembering Nobbs as a 16-year-old in Arsenal's academy.

Fara Williams meanwhile once again finds the ball failing kindly to her with a chance to shoot, but it's an easy save for Zinsberger this time.

  19. CLOSE!published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Liverpool 0-1 West Ham

Not for the first time this afternoon, Liverpool fire a ball across the face of goal and there's no-one quite there to connect with it.

Melissa Lawley was the creator on this occasion - it just needed ANY touch from the three or four red shirts sprinting in.

    Reading 0-0 Arsenal

    Manuela ZinsbergerImage source, Rex Features

Well, Reading should be 1-0 up here after just five minutes.

Fara Williams is gifted an opportunity to bear down one-on-one on goal, but somehow doesn't strike it with any conviction and Manuela Zinsberger is able to block it behind for a corner.

Reading may not get a better chance all game...
