  1. FULL-TIMEpublished at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    FT: Man Utd 3-1 Everton

The final whistle blows and it's three points to Manchester United.

Lauren James lit up the first half, poking in at the near post on four minutes just two minutes after Mary Earps punched a corner into her own net to give Everton the lead.

James then won a penalty five minutes later after a mazy run, which Katie Zelem stroked home.

And in first-half stoppage time, the United striker brilliantly lashed in from 20 yards

The less said about the second period the better.

Last five minutes and what a finish we've been treated to after a bit of a tactical battle for the first hour.

Jess Carter comes on for Chelsea to shore things up at the back.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Man Utd 3-1 Everton

Late, late sub for United takes us into the final minute of normal time.

Martha Harris is replaced by Kirsty Smith.

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Man Utd 3-1 Everton

A loose pass from Everton defender Megan Finnigan is intercepted and Leah Galton is sent in down the left channel. It's a good effort, hard and low across the keeper, but flashes just wide of the post.

That's the closest we've come to a goal for either side since half-time.

  7. Postpublished at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City

And it's almost 2-2 right away as the ball breaks to City's Georgia Stanway on the resumption.

Great left-foot strike that is well saved down low to her left from Ann-Katrin Berger.

  8. goal

GOAL: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester Citypublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Maren Mjelde (81 mins)

    What a turnaround!

Chelsea score twice in the space of three minutes to take the lead.

It's Maren Mjelde who gets the final touch, not that she knew much about it, after a driving effort from Beth England bounces around the City box after Ellie Roebuck's save wasn't cleared.

City stunned and Chelsea seemingly on their way to a brilliant comeback.

    Beth England (79 mins)

Chelsea finally find a way past Ellie Roebuck, but only at the second attempt!

Beth England nods in the leveller from close range after Roebuck pulls off another cracking save to deny Ji So-Yun.

Only the second goal City have conceded in the the WSL this season and with just over 10 minutes left to play, it's all up for grabs again.

  10. Postpublished at 13:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Chelsea 0-1 Manchester City

Been a couple of changes - one for each side.

Georgia Stanway is on for City in place of Tessa Wullaert while Drew Spence is on for Chelsea for Guro Reiten.

Stanway gives away a free-kick to Chelsea on the edge of her own box but Ji So-Yun can't take advantage at two attempts, the first when she strikes it straight at the City wall and then again as it goes well over the crossbar.

    Into the last 15 minutes...

Last change for Everton as they try to liven up this second half. It feels as though both sets of players are paying for the speed at which the opening period was played at.

Captain Lucy Graham goes off and on in her place is Abbey-Leigh Stringer.

United make their second substitution, with Ella Toone on for Hayley Ladd.

My word - Ellie Roebuck is having one of the games of her career today.

Once again she pulls off a brilliant save to deny Chelsea. Ramona Bachmann looked destined to find a leveller as she lined-up a shot with her right after a run to the edge of the box.

It was heading into the left corner on the curl, but Roebuck at full stretch palms it behind two-handed for a corner.

  13. Postpublished at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Man Utd 3-1 Everton

In an effort to break this second-half deadlock, United just tried a bizarre corner routine which I'll try my best to describe to you...

Five red shirts all stood together at the corner of the box near to the taker, feigned to run into the area and instead the corner was taken short.

They all ran to the back post, but the ball never came in and eventually went behind for a goal-kick.

I don't think it was meant to go like that, somehow.

Chelsea throwing everything at City now and it's like pinball around the visitors' box as cross after cross goes into their box.

Steph Houghton once more is there with some last-ditch defence to deny Ramona Bachmann's drive.

Caroline Weir's well-taken volley remains the difference.

Jill Scott in the wars a touch now for City as she is the latest to put her body on the line.

Sophie Ingle was lining-up a volley on the edge of their area but Scott was having none of that as City look to hold on to their lead.

Scott runs it off and City are back to hold firm again.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Man Utd 3-1 Everton

The life has gone out of this game a bit, so both coaches make changes.

For Man United off goes Jess Sigsworth and on comes Kirsty Hanson.

Hannah Cain and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah are on for Everton, with Molly Pike and Inessa Kaagman the players to make way.

  17. Postpublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Chelsea 0-1 Manchester City

What have Chelsea got in reply then with their unbeaten record now under serious threat?

Just under half an hour still to play.

City go ahead after arguably their strongest period of the game as Jill Scott saw a header from a corner cleared close to the Chelsea line just before that Caroline Weir goal.

    Caroline Weir (59 mins)

    Well, well.

It's a goal finally in this one and you could argue it's come somewhat against the run of play.

It's a brilliantly taken one for City and Caroline Weir as she neatly finishes inside the box with a side-foot volley from Keira Walsh's cross.

3,498 are watching this potential title decider unfold.

Nothing separating them still as we approach the hour mark, but twice Chelsea have come within the width of the frame of the goal from taking the lead.

Remember, it's a chance for both of them to pick up a win and go top before Arsenal kick-off against Reading at 14:30 GMT.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Chelsea strike the woodwork for a second time!

Ji So-Yun denied this time with a shot from just outside the City box.

Ellie Roebuck was helpless as it seemingly took a deflection to her left, but then watched with relief as it bounced clear off the base of the post.

    City survive.
