    Stoke 1-0 Sheff Wed

Stoke haven't let up the pace since going ahead, and Sam Clucas is at the heart of their best work along with Joe Allen.

Clucas drove forward a minute ago, tried to pop a pass through to set Lee Gregory away but got his angles wrong and Cameron Dawson was out quickly to smother.

Home fans happy at the minute, Stoke don't look like a side at the foot of the Championship.

    Barnsley 0-1 West Brom

What have Barnsley got in response to West Brom taking an early lead at Oakwell?

So far, they've been well kept back by the Baggies, with Cauley Woodrow being forced to try his luck from long range, however it's easily collected by West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone.

Something of a surprise scoreline at Salford, who are leading promotion-chasing Crewe 2-0.

Meanwhile in League One, struggling Southend have gone behind to a Joe Mason goal for MK Dons.

Footballers do not tend to get much time off at Christmas, but in truth Cardiff boss Neil Harris probably did not spent too many hours analysing the opposition ahead of this one.

He knows Millwall pretty well, after all.

Harris was Lions boss for more than four years before stepping down in October, and signed 10 of the 11 players picked to start by Gary Rowett this afternoon.

So far, it is Harris' old side who have had more possession than his current team - although there has been little sign of a goal at either end.

  5. goal

GOAL: Stoke 1-0 Sheff Wedpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    James McClean (11 mins)

No less than Stoke deserve for their early enterprise, and they lead, though it was a bit of a goalline sneak from James McClean to pinch it from Joe Allen.

Good work from Sam Clucas to chase a ball to the left edge of the box and he dropped a looping cross perfectly on the volleying boot of Allen on the opposite edge.

He connected, pulling the shot across goal and it was going in until McClean's cheeky pinch on the line.

  6. Doyle scores again for Swindonpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    League Two latest

As close to a footballing certainty as you can get at the moment - Eoin Doyle has scored for Swindon.

The striker has netted for the 11th consecutive game from the spot to put the League Two leaders in front against Cambridge.

  7. goal

GOAL: Hull City 0-1 Nott'm Forestpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Lewis Grabban

Hull and Jarrod Bowen were the talking point before this one but it's Forest - looking for form - who lead.

Samba Sow was hauled down in the Hull City box by Jackson Irvine and the referee pointed to the spot. Up stepped Lewis Grabban, he stroked it down the middle of the goal for the lead.

Well Luton's lead didn't last long..

Fulham take just four minutes to get themselves back on level terms courtesy of a stunning move upfield from Ivan Cavaleiro up the right flank.

The on-loan Wolves man puts in a lovely ball towards an unmarked Bobby Decordova-Reid who heads home from close range.

    Stoke 0-0 Sheff Wed

Proper old-school challenge between Sam Clucas and Wednesday schemer Barry Bannan a moment ago... real 50-50 with studs clashing!

    Booming.

  10. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Brentford 0-0 Swansea

Bit of early pressure from Swansea almost produces an opener, as Ethan Pinnock got himself in the way of Andre Ayew's effort and a dangerous cross slipped teasingly into the area but was cleared.

Swans using the width well, getting in on the sides and pumping plenty of deliveries into the Bees box.

  11. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 0-1 West Brompublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Filip Krovinovic (5 mins)

Another defensive error, this time by the Barnsley goalkeeper, and the Championship leaders are in front.

Filip Krovinovic collects Samuel Sahin-Radlinger's poor clearance and fires in from long range.

  12. goal

GOAL: Luton 1-0 Fulhampublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Kazenga LuaLua (5 mins)

Blimey, Luton have taken the lead and they've done so in quite some style!

Fulham defender Alfie Mawson messes around with the ball inside his own box and is dispossessed before James Collins tees up Kazanga LuaLua to firehome.

Not the start Fulham will have wanted.

    Stoke 0-0 Sheff Wed

Stoke City making the early running against Sheffield Wednesday, with Tom Ince heavily involved for the Potters as the creative outlet.

Lot of huffing and puffing from the hosts, but nothing to show for it so far.

Wednesday have won four of the past five and are unbeaten in six. But they're on the back-foot right now.

Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday were just joined a moment ago in a minute's applause for Martin Peters, the former England World Cup winner who died last weekend at the age of 76.

What a fine player he was, for West Ham, Spurs and Norwich in particular.

    Sounds lovely...

Stoke's stadium is a tidy 'new build' but the wind doesn't half whistle around it, and it's usually absolutely freezing.
