    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Gone is Preston's stylish passing of the ball and dominance of possession of just 20 minutes or so ago.

Leeds are now in the ascendancy and Luke Ayling sets up Ezgjan Alioski to a free header inside the Preston box but it sails over the bar.

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Andrew Hughes is called into action when a long Leeds cross into the Preston box sails a little too close to Patrick Bamford for comfort.

The Preston defender puts it out for a corner, which Leeds squander before Kalvin Phillips misplaces a long ball towards Luke Ayling which draws the ire of the home support.

As it stands, Preston are up to third and six points behind their opponents.

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Alan Browne sends a Preston free-kick into the box which is headed away into the path of Tom Barkhuizen but the Preston man timidly lofts the ball over the top and back to Leeds keeper Kiko Casilla.

Leeds look more comfortable now than they did 10 minutes ago.

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

This is better from Leeds. Stuart Dallas tears up the Preston defence with a low rolled cross towards Helder Costa who can't quite get a shot away.

He continues his pursuit, however, and eventually Luke Ayling tries his luck with a shot outside the box which sails over the Preston crossbar.

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Leeds somehow work a shot on goal and for once Preston look rushed off their feet in the face of an attack.

Ezgjan Alioski powers a low shot which rolls past a number of Preston defenders and past the right-hand post.

There's more urgency from the hosts now. This is only the second time they've been behind at home in the league this season. The last time was their 1-0 defeat by Swansea in August.

  6. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Preston have bossed this game in the past 15 minutes and Leeds just don't look like they have a response.

Alex Neil's gameplan is working, it would seem. Leeds can't keep possession and they're surrounded by Preston players every time a pass is made.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is crouched down in his area. His body language says it all.

    Alan Browne

That is sublime from Preston and, you know what, they deserve it.

It all results from Sean Maguire making a fantastic tackle on Mateusz Klich on the verge of his own box and Preston work it all the way upfield.

Leeds can't cope with Preston's pace and Alan Browne is eventually found totally unmarked in acres of space and he slots in a low shot with ease past Kiko Casilla.

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Leeds are living dangerously, here, and David Nugent has looked dangerous when he's made runs into the hosts' box in the early stages of this match.

His latest dalliance towards goal sees him come inches from getting on the end of a pinpoint Tom Barkhuizen cross, but Leeds somehow clear their lines.

    Preston turning the screw, here.

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Preston's Irish contingent of Alan Browne and Sean Maguire are having a pretty decent game thus far.

The latter chests down a clever lofted ball into the Leeds box, which the home crowd immediately shout for handball, before he tees up Browne to shoot on goal.

However, the Preston midfielder drags his turn and shot wide of the mark.

  10. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Luke Ayling allows Tom Barkhuizen through to get a shot in on goal after failing to control a long ball towards the Leeds box.

The Preston forward tries his luck with a shot from a tight angle on the edge of the 18-yard line but it's well dealt with by home keeper Kiko Casilla.

15 minutes in and it's pretty even so far.

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Stuart Dallas is brought down from a robust Ben Pearson side check much to the annoyance of the home crowd but referee Darren Bond says nothing doing.

This was moments after Helder Costa was brought down by a similar challenge in the build-up to a Leeds attack.

Preston bullishly trying to cancel Leeds out, here.

  12. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Paul Huntington plays a nervy backpass towards Preston goalkeeper Declan Rudd under some pressure and the latter just about gets the ball away.

At the other end Leeds keeper Kiko Casilla comes out of his box to close down another Preston counter attacking move and must feel relieved when Brad Potts scuffs his shot from outside the box.

Both sides inches from embarrassment within a matter of moments.

  13. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Preston

Leeds win an early corner in front of a vociferous home crowd but Preston do well clear their lines and press the hosts back so they can't work a shot in on goal.

Ben Pearson eventually works a counter attacking move but a poor forward ball sees it end almost as soon as it starts.
