Some sublime work from Helder Costa on the byline and eventually the ball sails over towards an unmarked Ezgjan Alioski in the box.

Despite having an open goal in front of him, Alioski hits it first time well over the bar from close range.

Leeds make the first change of the match right as Preston break upfield and win a free-kick deep into their box.

Eddie Nketiah, who scored the equaliser in their 1-1 last time these two sides met, comes on in place of Patrick Bamford.

Leeds midfielder Helder Costa takes the ball to the corner as if it's the 90th minute and there's a scramble from Preston to win possession back.

David Nugent eventually works a shot on goal that goes high and wide.

It's all Preston at the hour mark.

Leeds concede a free-kick after a foul on David Nugent and Alan Browne sends it into the box.

There's a bit of head tennis as Preston look to get it away before it deflects away.

The crowd are getting on Preston's backs, but the visitors are standing firm.

Stuart Dallas mozies on into the Preston box and tests keeper Declan Rudd with a shot from close range that he palms out for a Leeds corner.

The hosts take it quickly and Preston head it well away and Dallas once again tries his luck with a shot from long range, this time.

It goes wide of the mark and away for a goal kick.

The Elland Road crowd roars Leeds on as a sustained spell of pressure results in a corner for the hosts.

However in the process, it looks like Ezgjan Alioski puts in a high arm on Ben Pearson, which Preston aren't happy with.

Referee Darren Bond isn't too fazed by it, however, and he allows play to continue, with Leeds wasting the corner that follows.

Preston haven't sat back just yet and are still causing themselves a nuisance when they have the ball.

An Alan Browne corner into the Leeds box is headed away into the path of Tom Barkhuizen, whose half-volleyed follow-up goes well over the bar.

Browne's goal remains the difference between the two sides.

Leeds are passing the ball about well in these early stages and don't seem to be putting themselves under any unnecessary pressure in the early stages of the second half.

A cracking ball from Jack Harrison almost finds the feet of an unmarked Patrick Bamford but Preston clear their lines once more.

Straight from the restart Sean Maguire works a shot after a poor clearance from Leeds' Liam Cooper.

However, any heart-in-mouth moments would not have lasted long, as Maguire curled his first-time shot high and wide.

Leeds get us back under way, attacking the goal to the left of the television gantry in the second half.

The news that all Blackburn fans were fearing - manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that forward Bradley Dack sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Monday's draw with Wigan and will be out of action for a lengthy period.

Leeds started poorly but have slowly built their way back into the game. A huge second half awaits.
