We mentioned earlier that Wycombe have endured a disappointing Christmas period so far - and it doesn't appear to be getting any better today.

The League One leaders are behind at home to Coventry inside the opening three minutes, with Sam McCallum cutting inside and placing a superb shot into the far corner to put the Sky Blues in front.

GOAL: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Cardiffpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Robert Glatzel (5 mins)

Wednesday had made a bright start at Hillsborough, but just as I was about to tell you about their chance through Jacob Murphy, Cardiff have raced down the other end and scored.

Some neat inter-play on the edge of the area gives Robert Glatzel a chance 12 yards out and he fires beyond Cameron Dawson.

  4. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-0 Lutonpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Marley Watkins (4 mins)

Bristol City came into this match on the back of four successive defeats, but they're off to the perfect start against Luton.

Niclas Eliasson, recalled after a dazzling display off the bench on Boxing Day, crosses for Marley Watkins to bundle home at the far post.

    Fulham 0-0 Stoke

Fulham are one of the teams in the thick of the play-offs, having been tipped to make an immediate return to the top flight.

The Whites boast the Championship's top scorer in Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has netted 13 of his 18 goals in his last 14 games.

But Scott Parker's side have a leaky defence - with the three conceded at Luton on Boxing Day meaning they have let in 28 goals in 24 games this season.

    FT: Gillingham 1-0 Rochdale

This game looked destined to be heading for a goalless draw for long periods, but Connor Ogilvie has popped up with just four minutes remaining to earn Gillingham victory over Rochdale in the early League One kick-off.

There was even more drama deep into stoppage time when Rochdale's MJ Williams was booked twice in the space of a minute to receive his marching orders.

That makes it five unbeaten for the Gills, who temporarily move up to 11th and three points off the play-offs.

Swindon visit Port Vale today as they look to extend their three-point gap to Exeter City, who play fourth-placed Colchester in arguably the game of the day.

It's been a Christmas to forget so far for the top two in League One.

Despite still being six points clear at the summit, it could've been even better for Wycombe Wanderers had they not suffered successive losses to Oxford United and Portsmouth.

It's been a sluggish few weeks for Ipswich Town, too, with the Tractor Boys winless in six games and manager Paul Lambert expressing uncertainty over his future on Friday.

Both teams are in action today, as Wycombe host Coventry and Ipswich visit Lincoln.

Southend sit out the action today, meaning Bolton will move off the bottom of the table if they beat Shrewsbury.

Has anyone else given up trying to work out what day it actually is?

Even football seems to be confused, with a near full programme of English Football League action to get stuck into today - but just three Premier League games spread out as they normally would be on a typical Sunday.

Arsenal's match against London rivals Chelsea kicked off at 14:00 GMT and you can follow that game by clicking here.

The Gunners are 1-0 up with six minutes left to half-time.

    Championship bottom sixImage source, .

Just like the play-offs, the picture at the bottom has also closed up over the past month.

Barnsley couldn't buy a win for most of autumn, going 17 games without a victory - which left them eight points adrift of safety.

But the Tykes have found their form since beating Hull at the end of November, and a four-game unbeaten run has lifted them off the bottom.

Wigan have slid down the table following a 12-match winless streak and now prop up the division, despite drawing their past four.

Stoke moved out of the relegation zone after they beat Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day while Luton, winless in four, replaced them in the bottom three.

    Championship play-off raceImage source, .

The race for the play-offs always gives the Championship that extra bit of intrigue, and this season is no different.

The fact West Brom and Leeds have eked out a gap to the rest of the division means the rest of the top half is tightly congested.

Third-placed Brentford have 40 points but below that three points separate six sides.

A few other teams are will within a shout too - 12th-placed Millwall are five points off the top six.

Back to the Championship, and the final London derby of the decade comes in south-east London, where Millwall entertain Brentford at The Den.

The Bees started the season slowly, but are now enjoying a hot streak which has lifted them to third in the table.

Thomas Frank's side have won three of their past four, and recorded nine wins from 14 matches stretching back to mid-October.

But the west Londoners could have their best players picked off in January, with 15-goal striker Ollie Watkins and playmaker Said Benrahma likely to attract attention.

Millwall have play-off hopes of their own, with Gary Rowett breathing new life into their season since his appointment on 22 October.

The Lions have lost just one of their past nine, and start the day five points off the play-offs.

Gillingham are hosting Rochdale, and it's currently goalless with 65 minutes gone.

    Eddie NketiahImage source, Rex Features

It's been 143 days since he signed on loan from Arsenal, Leeds United have played 23 Championship matches since he joined, and FINALLY after 15 substitute appearances, Eddie Nketiah makes his first league start for the club.

In fact, it is the England Under-21 striker's first league start full stop.

Arsenal have been strongly rumoured to be considering recalling Nketiah next month because of his lack of game-time.

The 20-year-old comes in to the Leeds XI for top scorer Patrick Bamford, who is injured and has been relegated to co-commentary duty for LUTV.

I can say relegated because it's self-deprecating, I would rather be playing up front.

  20. Can Leeds end their mini slump?published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Birmingham v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

    Marcelo BielsaImage source, Rex Features

A three-match winless run might not sound like a lot, but for Marcelo Bielsa's second-placed Leeds United it really is.

Only twice has his team gone more than two Championship games without a win since the Argentine was appointed head coach in June 2018.

The other occasion was during the final four fixtures of last season, which cost Leeds automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Having surrendered a 3-0 lead to draw with Cardiff, lost at Fulham and only drawn with Preston thanks to a last-minute equaliser, Bielsa will be hoping the blip is over when they take on mid-table Birmingham this afternoon.

Blues aren't in the best of form either, but they did end a three-game losing run with their Boxing Day draw at Blackburn.

They also beat Leeds United in both the sides' meetings last season, which must give Pep Clotet's team plenty of confidence.

There's some big team news from the visiting camp from St Andrew's, too...
