She then has another go moments later but it's straight down the throat of Sophie Harris in the Brighton goal.

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

Brighton are having a go, but their high line is leaving them exposed.

Man City broke quickly on them and a cross-shot from Ellen White was just about palmed clear by Sophie Harris, it was inches from falling to the feet of Lauren Hemp.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Vivianne Miedema's 14th-minute header separates the sides at the break.

Manuela Zinsberger in the Arsenal goal has not had a real save to make, with Arsenal dominating the ball and dictating the tempo.

But a serious-looking injury to Beth Mead has been a blow to the visitors.

  8. Postpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal's Lisa Evans almost makes something of a cross from left-back Katie McCabe, but the ball drifts out of play before she can get any purchase on the ball.

    Added time is almost up.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

    Brighton needed half-time.

Manchester City have been all over them for the final 10 minutes of the half, which included Lauren Hemp heading in from a corner.

Immediately prior to that, Albion had grown into the game without creating anything, responding well to two early City goals.

The first was a disaster for Brighton when keeper Sophie Harris was harshly adjudged to have picked up a back-pass. The indirect free-kick was nudged to Steph Houghton, who slammed home.

Ellen White then volleyed in a cross 10 minutes later.

It's a long way back for Brighton.

  10. Postpublished at 13:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal keeper Manuela Zinsberger is called into action again to gather a cross from Maeva Clemaron.

We will have eight minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half.

The injury to Beth Mead has thrown Arsenal off their game somewhat.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Man City 3-0 Brighton

First booking of the game goes to Brighton's Aileen Whelan, and there are no complaints.

It's clumsy more than anything. She cleans out Megan Campbell and for a brief second is worried it could be worse than yellow, but a booking is fair.

  12. Postpublished at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Everton have reacted well after the resumption of play.

The game was stopped for a good five minutes which Beth Mead received treatment.

Megan Finnigan just latched onto a free-kick into the Arsenal box but couldn't get enough on her effort at the back stick, allowing Gunners keeper Manuela Zinsberger to gather fairly easily.

GOAL: Man City 3-0 Brightonpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Lauren Hemp (38 mins)

The pressure tells. After lying dormant for about 10 minutes, Man CIty have suddenly just gone up a gear.

After those three quickfire chances, Ellen White's shot was saved and led to a corner.

It was whipped in by Caroline Weir and Lauren Hemp heads in from right under the crossbar after a good header across goal from Steph Houghton.

This one's probably all over now.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Leonie Maier comes on to replace Beth Mead for Arsenal.

Mead is stretchered off to warm applause from the home crowd, and hopefully that injury is not too serious.

  15. CLOSE!published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Man City 2-0 Brighton

Georgia Stanway swings in a left-wing corner right and it looked to be going straight in only for Brighton striker Ini Umotong to head off the line.

Moments later Victoria Williams blocks a goalbound effort from Janine Beckie, who cut in from the right and curled a superb left-footed shot.

The ball wasn't properly cleared and City striker Ellen White was in, but Sophie Harris made an excellent save.

    Pressure.

There is a stretcher being brought on for Beth Mead, which is not good news.

It looks like her knee, or lower right leg is the problem.

We'll have quite a bit of stoppage time at the end of the game because of this stoppage.

  17. YELLOW CARD (George)published at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Everton centre-back Gabby George goes into the book for a late challenge on Arsenal forward Beth Mead.

The England international nicked the ball away from the defender and was then on the receiving end of a heavy tackle.

Mead will need some treatment from the medical team before the game restarts.

  18. Postpublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Fifteen minutes to the break, and it's a case of Arsenal dominance.

The Gunners are so comfortable on the ball and are running the game, with Everton offering little in reply.

The hosts made a bright start but forward Hannah Cain has hardly had a sniff of the ball since then.

Vivianne Miedema's goal separates the teams, and Arsenal could easily be further ahead.

  19. Postpublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Man City 2-0 Brighton

Brighton have managed to get a foothold in the past five minutes or so.

They haven't created a chance for themselves yet, but Man City haven't been running straight through them and dominating the ball as in the opening 20 minutes.

    Cue City third goal probably.

  20. Postpublished at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal continue to carve out chances.

Beth Mead gets in behind the Everton defence but is pushed wide on the left hand side of the box by the weight of the through ball.

She controls and puts in a low ball which Danielle Van de Donk is inches away from getting on the end of.

The Everton goal is leading a bit of a charmed life, but while it is still only 1-0 they have a chance...
