'We trained twice to prepare for this game'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Portsmouth v Altrincham (15:00 GMT)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Altrincham boss Phil Parkinson on BBC 5 Live: "I’ve lost count of our away trips in the cup, but it feels like being at home now.

"We had to stay over for this one which we don’t normally do for financial reasons.

"When the draw was made this was the dream game in terms of the size of the club and level of the opponents.

"But you can’t prepare for playing in this stadium and against this kind of opposition. We do as much as we can on a non-league setting.

"We trained twice during this week for this game. This is non-league, we’re used to coming up against teams who have extra time to prepare.

"But the brand of football we play the lads are doing well to put what we practice in training into the pitch."

  3. Shrews' enviable home recordpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Shrewsbury v Mansfield (15:00 GMT)

    Fortress Montgomery Waters Meadow!

Well, something like that. Who were the last team to beat Shrewsbury in their own back yard in an FA Cup game?

Manchester United. The Shropshire side have gone on a 10-game unbeaten FA Cup run at home, stretching back to 2016.

Can Mansfield bring that run to an end today?

  4. Today's late fixturepublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Eastleigh v Crewe (17:30 GMT)

Once this afternoon's fixtures are done and dusted, we've got a teatime fixture for you as National League Eastleigh host Crewe Alexandra of League Two.

Eastleigh sit 11th in the fifth tier with one win in their last four but the prospect of a big draw in the next round of the cup could serve a tasty distraction Ben Strevens' side.

The Spitfires defeated seventh tier Stourbridge 3-0 in a replay in the last round and they now face a promotion chasing Crewe side.

Alexandra find themselves in third place in League Two but are coming off the back of two defeats in their last three league games.

They defeated Accrington in the last round in a game which finished with just one linesman.

As a neutral, I've got my fingers crossed for another upset.

  5. 'We cannot underestimate them'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

Kingstonian v AFC Fylde (15:00 GMT)

Jim Bentley, manager of AFC Fylde on Football Focus: "We have never been to the third round. We have come here to win. We are a club on the up, we are looking to be successful and a game like this is so important for putting us on the map. We cannot underestimate anyone. We have treated this game like we would any other. It's hard to study them but we know they are in form, they are a great team. It's going to be a tough game."

Kingstonian manager Hayden Bird speaking on Football Focus: "You try to keep the players focused and their minds on the game. We have done that well during the week but as soon as you get to the ground today you cannot help but get swept away with the magic of the FA Cup.

"We dare to dream, we are 90 minutes away from the third round. My message to the players is that everyone is proud of them. It’s a big moment for them. Everyone loves these days but we still want to win. It’s a game we can win."

  7. An all League Two affairpublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

Cheltenham v Port Vale (15:00 GMT)

Cheltenham Town are hoping to make it into the third round for the first time since since 2013 when Premier League Everton were the visitors.

A replay win over League Two leaders Swindon Town means the Robins take on fellow fourth tier side Port Vale.

The Valiants are just three points behind Cheltenham in the league and made it into the second round after winning at League One MK Dons.

Isthmian League Premier Division side Kingstonian host National League AFC Fylde in today's only all non-league clash.

Kingstonian played in every qualifying round before their first-round 4-0 thumping over League Two Macclesfield in round one.

It's the furthest they’ve been in the competition since 2001.

Meanwhile, Fylde beat seventh-tier Nantwich Town 1-0 in the previous round, and with these sides being drawn together, we're guaranteed a non-league team in the hat for the third round.

  9. Burton face League Two opposition againpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Oldham v Burton (15:00 GMT)

In round one, Burton ended a run of six consecutive eliminations from the FA Cup as they beat League Two side Salford City in a replay.

And could they find safe passage to round three this afternoon? Well, they face League Two opposition again in Oldham Athletic today.

The Latics have won just one of their past 11 home games in this competition, however this is the first time they've played at Boundary Park since November of 2016.

Walsall v Oxford United (15:00 GMT)

    Highlights: Darlington 0-1 Walsall

Walsall's form in League Two isn't great but their FA Cup ambitions in recent seasons have been quite impressive.

They will be hoping to reach the third round in two straight seasons for the first time since 2003-04.

Oxford, meanwhile, have got used to travelling in this competition. This is their fifth consecutive FA Cup match played away from home.

  11. Carlisle travel to Forest Greenpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

Forest Green v Carlisle (15:00 GMT)

Carlisle kicked things off in the first round with a Friday night win over Dulwich Hamlet on the telly.

Today they take on high-flying Forest Green who easily swept past Billericay Town 4-0 in round one.

Rovers have been tough to beat having lost just four games in League Two so far this season, while United sit just five points above the drop zone in the fourth tier.

But anything can happen in the Cup!

    Portsmouth v Altrincham (15:00 GMT)

Today's second round tie is the first competitive meeting between these two sides and history dictates that Altrincham might have their work cut out when they make the long trip to Portsmouth.

Altrincham have won just once in their past 11 FA Cup games against English Football League sides, however they did beat Barnsley 1-0 in November 2015.

The sixth-tier side last reached the third round in 1994-95. Can they pull off an upset against Kenny Jackett's Pompey today?

  13. Late Newport winner sinks Maldon & Tiptreepublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

Maldon & Tiptree 0-1 Newport County

We had one game in the FA Cup yesterday as Newport County secured a place in the third round with a 1-0 win over Maldon & Tiptree.

Padraig Amond's thumping header in the 91st minute saw off the spirited eighth-tier side from Essex.

The Isthmian League North Division club pushed their opponents from four leagues higher all the way, but ended up falling just short.

Still, a wonderful achievement to get this far in the competition for Wayne Brown's side.
