It's an absolutely brilliant goal. A quick pass for James Forrest, he has a look and the movement from Lewis Morgan was incredible. He nips in front of the defender, left foot, cool as you like. He looks like he's been playing that position all his career

    Lewis Morgan

Many will have been questioning the choice of Lewis Morgan as Celtic's front man.

But the 23-year-old, who is better known as a winger, responds with his second goal of the season.

James Forrest gets to the by-line, cuts it back and his Scotland colleague sweeps it into the net from eight yards.

It was good play from Olivier Ntcham. There wasn't anything else on for him and the fact he took it on so quickly caught the goalkeeper by surprise

    Celtic 0-0 Rennes

Celtic's first shot comes from Olivier Ntcham, who is obviously keen to impress audiences in his homeland.

The midfielder takes a pot shot from 25 yards that almost catches Edouard Mendy unawares, but the goalkeeper gets down to push it away and the danger is cleared.

The first noticeable thing about the match tonight? It’s a sell-out, but there are no banners and no fireworks or any other kind of pyrotechnics. Celtic’s decision to effectively shut the section of the ground occupied by the Green Brigade, the club’s ‘ultras’, seems to have had the desired effect from the board’s point of view

It's important Lewis Morgan becomes a link-up player. I'm not sure that's a strength in his game, though, but he might stretch the game in behind and create space and pockets for Ryan Christie and James Forrest

    Celtic 0-0 Rennes

Oliver Ntcham is back in the Celtic starting line-up against the team from his homeland and he draws a foul that results in striker Jordan Siebatcheu picking up the first booking.

    Celtic 0-0 Rennes

It's been a subdued start at Celtic Park, but Rennes have the first chance as Rafiq Guitane forces Fraser Forster to push the ball clear with a powerful drive.

Fortunately for the Celtic goalkeeper, there is no visiting player there to take advantage.

It looked like Ryan Christie would start through the middle, but it looks like Lewis Morgan is playing in that position with Christie out on the right. But I'd expect there to be some fluidity, with the players interchanging up there

This is a very important night for Celtic. If they manage to top the group tonight, they'll be in a great position in the next round to go into a game feeling they can win. This is a side playing well, not just domestically but on the European front as well

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

We are under way at Celtic Park and it is an unfamiliar home side that take on Rennes.

It's top against bottom in Group E.

Celtic will want to go and finish this campaign on a high. Neil Lennon won't want to rest players, he wants his teams to keep on playing and stay in a rhythm. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Leigh Griffiths getting some minutes

  13. Celtic chase easier last-32 tiepublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Celtic v Rennes (20:00)

Celtic are already through to the last 32 and their target now is to win Group E.

If Neil Lennon's side beat Rennes, who now cannot qualify, later this evening at Celtic Park and Cluj lose to Lazio in Rome then the Scottish champions will top the section.

The bonus from that is avoiding some potentially big names dropping out of the Champions League group stage into the last 32 of the Europa League.

  14. Rennes playing 'for pride'published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Celtic v Rennes (20:00)

Rennes head coach Julien Stephan hopes his side can rise to what he considers a big occasion in "a cathedral of football" despite their own qualification hopes having gone.

"It is a very special place to play," he said. "We are also playing for the 2,500 supporters who have made the journey to support us, for pride too and to gain experience as we have a young squad. We know Celtic will play the British style, which is 100%, and we will try to respond to this."

  15. Lennon's 'weird' feelingpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Celtic v Rennes (20:00)

As the teams come out on to Celtic Park, home manager Neil Lennon says it is "sort of weird" to have already qualified for the knock-out stage before his side's final two fixtures.

"I've not really been in this position before, but we are still driven. If we can win the group, it may give you a favourable draw.

"We have only made 10 points in a European group before and this is an opportunity to better that. That would be another milestone for this group and it is a big incentive.

"We go into the game with confidence but no complacency. Rennes are dangerous, good pace in the team and counter attack well and, if they come and play with a freedom, we could be in for a difficult night."

  16. Eight changes for Rennespublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Celtic v Rennes (20:00)

Our attention turns to Celtic Park, where we revealed earlier that Lewis Morgan is a surprise choice through the middle for the hosts.

Rennes head coach Julien Stephan has opted for no less than eight changes.

In defence, Gerzino Nyamsi and 18-year-old Sacha Boey step in to the side for experienced defenders Jeremy Morel and Hamari Traore. Flavien Tait comes in on the right wing, Benjamin Bourigeaud and Lea Siliki make up the midfield duo and Rafik Guitane and Theoson Siebatcheu look set to take their place up front to replace Raphinha and top scorer M'Baye Niang.

    Scott Mullen

What a game. A bit of a cliche, but one neither side deserved to lose, so on that basis a point probably fair. But Steven Gerrard will take huge heart from the display of his team in the second half. They aren't through, but they are top of the group.

A subdued De Kuip is still emptying and the locals look stunned. This game should have been out of sight by half-time.

They are now a point behind Rangers as they face Feyenoord in their final game.

Young Boys, level with Porto, can also go through as they visit Rangers.

  20. FULL-TIME Feyenoord 2-2 Rangerspublished at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

An amazing, topsy-turvy game on a topsy-turvy night at Rangers end it with a point in Rotterdam and it looks like the will end it on top of Group G with Porto winning as they head into stoppage time in Bern.

Feyenoord took a deserved lead through Jens Toornstra into the break, but two superb second-half headers from Alfredo Morelos turned the game on its head in Rangers' favour.

Luis Sinisterra's superb finish put the game and group back in the melting pot, but Rangers survived late pressure to leave Steven Gerrard with a record of only three defeats in 27 games in European competition.
