    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Rangers are riding their luck here. That double chance came from the concession of a needless corner. A tremendous save from Allan McGregor brought first gasp before the stadium heaved as the rebound was then directed off the upright.

You do feel Rangers must make the most of the opportunities at the other end when they come their way. An away goal would silence this crowd that seem to be cranking up the volume with every foray forward. They are more than capable, but Feyenoord are fired up for this one, make no mistake.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 17mins

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Feyenoord are applying the pressure and a series of corners end with a superb one-handed save from a Steven Berghuis header and as the ball rises, the top of Leroy Fer's bonce sends it looping against the outside of the post.

  4. YELLOW CARD Kamara (Rangers)published at 18:12 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is the first to go into the referee's book for holding back Steven Berghuis.

Fortunately for Rangers, he is not one who will miss the next game with a yellow card.

Alfredo Morelos and centre-half Filip Helander are those on that knife edge.

Sheyi Ojo should do better. The angle of his cross, he's got to bend it out and I think Alfredo Morelos scores. He puts it in a diagonal motion towards the goalkeeper. It's a fabulous opportunity. Feyenoord are fragile at times

    Christian Fassnacht

There's a long old way to go, but in Switzerland, Young Boys lead Porto 1-0 courtesy of a Christian Fassnacht goal.

That result, plus a draw for Rangers tonight, would send Steven Gerrard's men through.

  7. Postpublished at 9mins

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Feyenoord's Eric Botteghin dwells on the ball inside his own penalty box and, as the Brazilian defender is dispossessed by Glen Kamara, Sheyi Ojo, who scored Rangers' winner against the Dutch last time out, fails to find Alfredo Morelos with his low pass into the six-yard box.

    Scott Mullen
    BBC Scotland in Rotterdam

Two penalty claims within two minutes rouses a simmering De Kuip into a frenzy of fury. From this distance, both would have been harsh, but it just offers more encouragement to the home side, who have had the bulk of possession so far.

Rangers are allowing Feyenoord possession and they are moving it about well. They make four or five passes and Kokcu should do better with the header. Not a penalty for me - good pressure from Barisic

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Loud cries for a penalty from the home fans as Jens Toornstra's cute chip into the penalty box finds Orkun Kikcu, but under pressure from Borna Barisic, the Turkish midfielder makes a mess of his header and ends up face down on the turf.

Rangers have got to handle this experience. Nothing quite prepares you for nights like this. It looks like Rangers are going to sit off and try and get some possession, or nick the ball and play on the counter. The Feyenoord full-backs are high and going at Rangers right from the start

  12. Postpublished at 2mins

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Feyenoord make an impressive start, putting the visitors under pressure, their full-backs pressing high.

But Rangers break quickly and, after Ryan Kent sends it wide to Alfredo Morelos, the Colombian striker is wasteful with his shot over the crossbar.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2019

    Feyenoord 0-0 Rangers

Feyenoord break from their Celtic-style huddle and, as bangers continue to go off inside the stadium, the home side get the game started.

Can Rangers qualify, will all four teams in their group be tied by the end of the night? There are so many possibilities.

"They'll have 50,000 in here on their side and they are a good team with good technical players. But we've rehearsed this; we've had this kind of challenge before and the players have done themselves proud."

Staying on the musical theme, the man in charge of the music is now playing I Just Can't Get Enough, the anthem synonymous with the green half of Glasgow.

In other news, De Kuip is approaching capacity with the heavens still wide open. The driving rain continues to fall heavily, with a spattering of umbrellas up in the crowd while the groundstaff attempt fork what is a pretty pristine surface.
