  2. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

Yet another chance for Hearts, who break with blistering speed from a Livingston corner.

Jake Mulraney leaves Craig Sibbald for dead and stands one up at the back post for Sean Clare, who wins the header, but can't find the back of the net or a team-mate from a tight angle.

  3. Cautious opening in Dingwallpublished at 18 mins

    Ross County 0-0 Hibernian

Hibs are seeing more of the ball, with the home side reluctant to commit too many players forward, but neither goalkeeper has been troubled yet, with Nathan Baxter easily gathering a tame shot from visiting midfielder Vykintas Slivka.

  4. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 0-1 Rangerspublished at 18 mins

    Scott Arfield

It's been coming. Rangers break the deadlock as Scott Arfield brilliantly steers a James Tavernier cross low into the far corner of the net, with Dons keeper Joe Lewis and his defence all-at-sea.

  5. CLOSE!published at 17 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

The maroon onslaught continues. Jamie Walker plays a tidy one-two with Sean Clare and gallops towards the box.

His rasping shot from left of centre is straight at Matija Sarkic. Very encouraging for Hearts, though.

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

Rangers are knocking at the door constantly here at Pittodrie, it feels like it is only a matter of time before they go through it. A big test for the Dons this, particularly for Ash Taylor who is making his first appearance since the end of the July.

  8. YELLOW CARD (Shay Logan)published at 15 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

There's the first booking of the night as Shay Logan flies in late on Joe Aribo. Yet another free-kick comes into the Aberdeen box but Connor Goldson's glancing header comes to nothing.

  9. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

Oh dear, that's an absolute howler of a miss from Craig Halkett against his old club.

From a corner, the former Livingston captain has a free header six yards out and skews horribly wide of target.

That, unquestionably, should have been 1-0.

  10. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 13 mins

    St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell

St Mirren's Gary MacKenzie had to receive treatment for an injury after colliding with Devante Cole and it seems as though the defender will now have to come off for Cammy MacPherson.

  11. goal

GOAL Celtic 1-0 Hamilton Acciespublished at 13 mins

    Ryan Christie

Celtic break the deadlock as Ryan Christie scores his 16th goal of the season. He slams home a rebound after a Lewis Morgan effort from the left hand side of the box is parried by Luke Southwood.

  12. 'Perfect night for football' but empty seatspublished at 19:57

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

I think some may be casting their mind back to that Celtic game and don't want a repeat of that, that's for sure. It's a bit disappointing - it could have been a better turnout - as it's the perfect night for a game of football and it's a mouth watering chance for Aberdeen to put the record straight after that Celtic defeat. And obviously get a little bit of revenge of the Ibrox defeat.

  13. Hearts finding their groovepublished at 9 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

Hearts are playing some decent stuff in these early skirmishes.

Jake Mulraney's clipped ball to the back post is nodded across the face of goal by Michael Smith, but Steven Naismith can't quite hook it into the path of a team-mate.

The Hearts forward then blasts straight at Matija Sarkic from the right angle of the box.

  14. CLOSE!published at 9 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos steams through on goal and fires it low towards the corner but Joe Lewis comes to the rescue for Aberdeen.

From the resulting corner the ball falls perfectly for Joe Aribo, but Shay Logan slides in to steal it just as the midfielder was lining up the shot.

  15. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 10 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

There's a thunderous collision on halfway between former Hibs man Marvin Bartley and Hearts' Steven Naismith.

Bartley absolutely clatters Naismith in the air, takes a knock to the face, and is promptly shown a yellow card as he gets to his feet.

  16. Dons prepared for attackpublished at 19:53

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

The last thing Aberdeen want is to lose an early goal here. They've set up what looks like a strong set-up - the two sitting midfield players to protect the back four. They'll try to get up and support Sam Cosgrove but it looks as though it's a very competitive set-up with those two almost defenders in midfield sitting in front to prevent an early goal.

  17. Early chance at Tynecastlepublished at 6 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Livingston

Hearts burst into life at Tynecastle with Sean Clare's looping header volleyed straight at Matija Sarkic from a tight angle.

  18. Rangers pressurepublished at 6 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

The visitors are aiming to break the deadlock early in the first half at Pittodrie as James Tavernier fires in a free-kick, the ball breaks to Scott Arfield and his effort is deflected for a corner.

However, the Dons repel the danger.

  19. Big game, big crowdpublished at 19:50

    St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Simple Digital Arena

    St Mirren

Decent crowd here in Paisley for what should be a good game. Big one for St Mirren if they want to head away from the wrong end of the table.
