    Leicester v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Conor McNamara
    MOTD commentator

It felt like nothing would ever match Leicester's miracle of 2015-16.

But Brendan Rodgers' magic spell has already earned more points at this stage of the season than Claudio Ranieri's side had on their adventure four years ago.

The Foxes have won eight league games in a row, with Prince Charming Jamie Vardy scoring in all of them.

Norwich appeared destined for their own 'happily ever after' when they beat Manchester City in mid-September, but Daniel Farke's side have only since had one win in 11 games.

Leicester are not your average fairytale. Could this story be happening *twice* upon a time?

  3. Can Leicester keep pace?published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Leicester v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

Leicester have established a club record of eight consecutive top-flight victories, scoring at least twice in each.

They're on course to equal their longest winning streak in all competitions - 10 in a row, set between December 1962 and March 1963.

  4. 'We need some form of consistency'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

    Watford

Watford manager Nigel Pearson speaking to Match of the Day: "I have already said to the players that our destiny is in our own hands. The creativity and intensity will serve us well. People don’t expect us to come here and win. We needed to be disciplined but you cannot come here and soak up pressure for 90 minutes. We created some excellent chances and unfortunately today we could not make the most of them. I have been pleased with the players application but we cannot have one week good and the next week bad. We need some form of consistency."

  5. 'It was not the prettiest game'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "It was not the prettiest game but I am more than happy with that. At this stage you have to show resilience and I believe we did that today. We have so many games but we are happy with this. Watford had their chances but we scored ours. We could have made the game easier for us but it’s intense to be constantly in charge of the game. We have to defend with passion not organisation sometimes and that was sometimes now right."

On Georginio Wijnaldum injury: "Our main problem is about losing players. We are fine with the number of fixtures but losing players does not make it any easier."

  6. 'Players coming through the lower leagues are braver'published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Leicester v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on BBC Football Focus

Look at the background of the players at Leicester. They have all come through the lower leagues so they are more experienced and they can handle the physicality of it. They are more mature and they are brave enough to do that. It is great to see players coming through the leagues and progressing in the Premier League.

  7. 'I have seen more positives than negatives today'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

    Watford

Watford manager Nigel Pearson speaking to BT Sport: "It’s always hard to come to places like this. There is a bit of risk and reward. We knew we would have to absorb pressure. The disappointment was their goal came from our set piece an that is something we need to address. I think we put them under strain and caused them problems but they have unbelievable players. We need to reflect on the performance and that going forwards will serve is well in the fight. I have seen more positives than negatives today. We have to make things happen and hopefully people have seen encouragement today."

On the missed chances: "At least we are there having chances. I would be more concerned if we have created nothing. We had some really good chances, the misses come down to confidence. You have to work your way through why we are where we are. Our home form has to be addressed. Every game we play we have to show commitment."

  9. VAR dominates Wilder's programme notespublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

Sheff Utd v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

    Kelly Somers
Final Score reporter at Bramall Lane

It's a cold and blustery day at Bramall Lane as two of last season's promoted clubs meet. But these are two sides who have had very different seasons - the Blades could go up to fifth with a win, whereas Villa are only out of the drop zone on goal difference.

But while it's all smiles for Chris Wilder's side, he has had a word on VAR in his programme notes. In fact it takes up a large portion of them.

But it's not all about the decisions that have gone against them - think of that one at Spurs - but the impact on the fans. 'The fans are the major stakeholders in football and it seems to be them getting the rough end of the stick' are the words he uses, highlighting the delays and communications.

So keep an eye on Bramall Lane today, and for Match of the Day later, if there is any controversy here...

  10. 'Conditions made it tough'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

    Liverpool

Liverpool's James Milner speaking to BT Sport: "It was one of those tough days. The wind was difficult ad it made it tough. We played to many long balls. Sometimes you have to play the game to the conditions. It’s not nice, the wind affects everything. It’s the same for both teams but the battle made it really important to get the three points. We knew it would be hard today. A new manager comes in and it makes it tough as players want to prove themselves.

  11. 'We have experience in playing out games'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

    Liverpool

Liverpool goalscorer Mo Salah speaking to BT Sport: 'It was a great pass for the first goal. We played a tough team today – the way they played, they should not be where they are in the table. We have experience in playing out games, I think sometimes the crowd gets nervous when we have only scored once but we are always confident of working towards the win."

  12. Bournemouth's 'extraordinary' injury crisispublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

Bournemouth’s injury problems are most definitely at a crisis point.

They have 26 senior players in their squad but nine of those are missing, with some of them being long-term absentees.

It’s extraordinary, and not what you need when you’re on your worst run of defeats in nearly seven years.

Plenty of positives for new Watford boss Nigel Pearson to take from his first game in charge.

His side remain bottom, and could be seven points adrift of safety in a worst-case scenario come the end of the weekend. But that was not a typical top versus bottom battle.
