Jonathan: Come on then Newcastle fans, hands up if you thought we'd be only 4 points off the Champions League places at Christmas...

Matt Price: People will say Steve Bruce deserves credit for his work with Newcastle. But they seem to forget he's had nearly 70 mil given to him in funds in his 1 transfer window. Less than 90 mil for Rafa in four windows. Rafa would have done much better with proper investment.

    Saints deserved it.

Jack Grealish has another long-range blast and it swerves wickedly, forcing Alex McCarthy to palm away instead of catching.

Saints look to have weathered the storm.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant to see Almiron finally on the scoresheet! Never has a player deserved it more.

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on Final Score

I'm glad there's a goal for Match of the Day really. It took 87 minutes for a shot on target.

I think the Bournemouth defence were all concentrating on Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez has just managed to get in there and head it in.

Wolves doing a good job of seeing this game out now. Norwich have thrown on Dennis Srbeny, Mario Vrancic and Onel Hernandez but they haven't made much of an impact.

    Jay Rodriguez

First shot on target, first goal of the game.

Sub Jay Rodriguez brings some cheer to an awful game, leaping to power in a header from Ashley Westwood's cross with three minutes remaining.

Dean Smith is starting to concern me. He seems to be sticking with the same team and formation every week but expecting different results. The definition of insanity.

    Brighton 0-1 Sheff Utd

Have Brighton got anything left to offer to try and claim something from this?

They punt a cross into the box fro Glenn Murray, but he can only glance a header well wide.

Sean Dyche is one of those managers who justifies anaesthetic football by saying it keeps them up. Look at Sheff Utd and Wolves, mate. Bore off.

    Five minutes to go.

This one in serious danger of finishing without a single shot on target from either side.

    Dreadful.

    Oh how has Hojbjerg missed?!

Southampton have three on two going forward and after Danny Ings' shot is saved, Hojbjerg has the whole net to aim for but somehow pokes a tame effort over. Wow.

Villa have some fire in their belly but Southampton are firmly in game management mode, stifling the home attacks well. Wesley has a sniff but Jack Stephens' diving tackle denies him a shot.
