Man City boss Pep Guardiola on BBC MOTD: "We created a lot and played incredibly well with the ball.

"It's impossible to do anything to stop goals like that - they are so good. Guys like Tielemans, they are so good at passing.

"But we were incredibly aggressive up front to stop them playing and we did well playing simple one-two touch and then pass.

"I like to watch my team play well so of course it's better when they win. We reviewed the last games against Arsenal and Oxford and we struggled a little bit so today was a good example about how we can play."

On Kevin De Bruyne: "Kevin De Bruyne is a fighter and he helps us keep up the intensity when he's playing further up he helps the press a lot.That was the best he has played in a long time.

On Riyad Mahrez: "Riyad was so aggressive against Chilwell [in terms of his pressing]. He wants to score more goals so he took his goal well too."

Manchester City

More from Man City boss Pep Guardiola, on catching Liverpool: "When we lose it is a disaster and impossible, when we win it is possible to catch them. We are one point behind Leicester. I just want to see my team play with and without the ball. The way we played this season is good. If we play like we did tonight we can compete with everyone."

On being without Mikel Arteta: "It was a little bit different. He was an incredible help for the team. He was a key person but I wish him all the best and of course I have the rest of the backroom staff too."

Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola on Sky Sports: "I am delighted with the way we played. We created a lot and played really good.

"We kept going forward and played balls so simply. We didn't want to make every action incredible, playing simple is why the team played good.

"I enjoyed it much more [than the Arsenal game]. Kevin De Bruyne was incredible tonight - he won the game for us.

"He has always been incredible since we've been together. His commitment is incredible. He's a spectacular player.

"Normally I don't agree with my player but I'll make an exception - [it was the best defensive performance of the season as De Bruyne said]."

More from Kevin De Bruyne on BBC MOTD: "We know Vardy is so dangerous. You almost can't defend against him because he's so fast and the defender can't keep up with him.

"Riyad has been playing really well this season; scoring goals and providing assists. He gave Ben Chilwell a nightmare tonight. He was really important for us."

Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC MOTD: "I thought they were very, very good and the big teams can perform at that level. We were disappointed first half, but second half we were a bit better, we had a bit more courage to get on the ball and play.

"Tonight is a good lesson for us of the work we still need to do to get to the level City are at.

"We took the lead when we weren't playing that well. Jamie was outstanding as was Kasper - they showed their level in a big game tonight.

"We always knew it would be difficult coming here, with the level they're at. We kept going and fighting but it wasn't the best of ourselves. City were outstanding.

"Evening's like this are humbling and good for you, because our young squad can learn from it."

On facing Liverpool next: "It's a great game to respond in and we're at home. It takes us to the midpoint in the season so we'll look forward to that one now."

Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers on Sky Sports: "In the first half we weren't good at all. It actually shows how well we've done to be where we are. Against that level of opponent it was a good lesson for us. No complaints about the result from me.

"We were a little more like ourselves in the second half but it showed there's a long way to go for this group of young players. When we did have the ball we showed we could hurt them. Like the goal, Jamie was outstanding all evening, it was a great pass by Harvey. But it shows there's a long way to go so tonight we have to keep that humility.

"We have to respect the quality of opposition we were against tonight. Technically they're on another level and Kevin De Bruyne was world class tonight.

"To be ahead of City at this stage of the season shows how well we've done. We were better second half and for us it's about that continual growth as a squad."

Manchester City

Riyad Mahrez added on Mikel Arteta: "Mikel was an important member of staff so it was a bit emotional for him to go but he had to take his chance and we are happy for him."

Manchester City

Man City midfielder Riyad Mahrez on Sky Sports: "It was a bit strange at the beginning [playing against Leicester] but we did well and we managed to come back. First half we were very good and in the second half we kept the ball well.

"I don't know if it was one of my best games but when the manager starts me I try my best to help the team to win."

Team-mate Kevin De Bruyne: "It was just cramp. It was a hard game, very open. We pushed all the way.

"I think defensively we were good - there was a lot of pressure on the ball - we didn't let Leicester play at all. Leicester did go ahead but that was the only chance they had.

"We have already played lots together and this season we have done well together. One v one Riyad is one of the best wingers in the league so I know I can trust him."

That was like the old Man City that we've loved to see.

They dominated possession, De Bruyne was immense and I don't think Leicester offered much threat at all.

That game showed the distance between the sides at the moment.

All over.

Leicester's run is over, their gap in second place is closed to within a point by Manchester City.

It didn't start well having fallen behind but they have shown their mettle by turning it around.

There are plenty who thought Liverpool had already wrapped up the Premier League title before they left for Qatar.

But this result has strengthened their position even further.

They are ten points clear, with a game in hand. It means they could lose four times and still be top.

Just to underline, Liverpool have lost four times in their last 70 Premier League games.
