Celtic dominated possession. Hibs didn't really believe in the opportunities that they had. There were at least five chances. Good response to the result and pressure from Rangers' result earlier and overall a good day for the Old Firm

  8. Satisfactory afternoon for championspublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    FT: Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

    Alasdair Lamont

A good win against stubborn opposition for Neil Lennon’s side. They could have won more comprehensively with a little more precision with their finishing, but Hibs were only occasionally able to lay a glove on their opponents.

Next up for the Edinburgh side is a home meeting with Rangers on Friday night, which is an intriguing-looking fixture.

The same could be said about Celtic’s trip to Tynecastle on Wednesday, when they can stretch their lead at the top of the league to five points.

There was a small period where Hibs made a few half chances, but the second goal just killed it off and Celtic have been very comfortable

  10. FULL-TIME Celtic 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

It was all rather easy in the end for Celtic as they match Rangers' 2-0 win away to Motherwell earlier today to regain their two-point lead at the top of the Premiership.

Jeremie Frimpong gave them a half-time lead and Odsonne Edouard virtually killed the game as a contest after the break.

Scott Allan's done okay working away in the middle of the pitch. But, when you come here, the toughest part of your game is the defensive side, it takes up the highest percentage of your game. That's not his forte, but he's done okay, he'll be happy enough
