The way Hibs have set back with a back-four, a diamond and two up front, with Kamberi drifting out to their right-hand side. Celtic have a box of four in the middle, not quite a diamond. So it'll be interesting to see who controls the game better to exploit those shapes in midfield

Can Celtic respond to Rangers' win over Motherwell to return to the top of the table?

  5. Well deserved to lose - Robinsonpublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    FT: Motherwell 0-2 Rangers

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We're really disappointed because we need players at the top of their game to beat Rangers.

"I think we had five or six players who were below par. We say that and we're 1-0 down at half-time to a set-play.

"There wasn't much in the game at all. And we've two super chances, Christopher Long and Devante Cole, and we're not going to get two better chances than that.

"Did we deserve anything out of the game? No, I don't think so because we had players below par.

"Maybe that's where we are that I'm judging us against Rangers now. We might not catch up with them, but we've certainly got to try and aim for that. I don't know if we had enough belief today.

"I have real belief in the boys that we can catch Aberdeen and finish third."

Neil Lennon will be wiping that defeat by Cluj out his memory as Celtic were already through. Hibs need to handle that midfield in a disciplined way that they sadly lack sometimes - they need to find someone competitive in front of the back four

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been out parading the Betfred Cup here ahead of the match against Hibs, warmly received as you’d expect. His team are back close to full strength as they look for a ninth consecutive home league win this season. Hibs have certainly improved in recent weeks, only losing once in their last six, but haven’t won here since January 2010 and will have to be at their best to end that run.

  11. 'Hibs have decent attacking options'published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is wary of the attacking threat Hibs have in their squad and what troubles they could pose his team.

"I think Jack [Ross] is quite a forward-thinking manager," he says. "I think the game will be expansive at times with the way they play.

"They've got decent attacking options in the team today. They scored three against Aberdeen last week and that's what they're capable of doing.

"The games here against Hibs are always good footballing games and I expect that to be the case today."

  13. 'We'll be playing a back three' - Lennonpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that his side will play with a back three against Hibs because he's had to shuffle his squad to accommodate for a lack of available wingers.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he says: "We'll probably go with a back three. Just due to the fact that, without Ryan [Christie] and Johnny [Hayes], we have a real lack of depth in the winger department and we want a little more support to Odsonne [Edouard]. This gives us the three in midfield and, the way Hibs play with their diamond, we can thwart that as well."

  15. 'We'll be positive' - Hibs' Rosspublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been saying that the "expansive style" adopted by Jack Ross is ideal for his former club and the new Hibs head coach reflected that attitude when talking to BBC Scotland.

"I've inherited a squad who have a lot of attacking prowess," he says. "I don't think we've got a team that can sit in. It's important to come here and be positive.

"When you look at Celtic's record in the recent years, and this season, we need to play well and hopefully have a bit of good fortune today."

  16. 'No complaints with Morelos red' - Gerrardpublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    FT: Motherwell 0-2 Rangers

One downside to Rangers' 2-0 victory was Alfredo Morelos' dismissal, meaning the in-form striker will now miss his club's trip to face Hibs on Friday. Manager Steven Gerrard has "no complaints" about the decision but believes the Colombian's temperament is improving.

"This is his first - probably minor - misbehaviour since he turned a massive corner," he tells Sky Sports. "So that's probably the only disappointment.

"Look, we've got no complaints. He's a human being. He's young and I must admit he's doing everything he can to improve in that area. Today is probably his first setback, but we'll reset him and we'll go again and we've got no complaints."

  17. 'Good end to a tough week' - Gerrardpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    FT: Motherwell 0-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is delighted that his players were able to conclude a difficult week - in which his team lost the Scottish League Cup final and then drew 1-1 with Young Boys in the Europa League - with a 2-0 win at a difficult ground.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he says: "We've had a tough week mentally and physically, so you're wondering what type of performance you're going to get. But, credit to the players, I thought across the board we were really good and really organised.

"If there is one fault it was not capitalising on some of our good play when we were 1-0 up to go and kill the game earlier. But it's an away win and a clean sheet off the back of a tough week, so I'm very pleased."

  18. Last person to beat Celtic? Lennonpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

The last time Hibs managed to beat Celtic was 16 December 2018, when goals from Vykintas Slivka and Florian Kamberi downed Brendan Rodgers side at Easter Road. Who was the manager that day in the Hibernian dug out? None other than Neil Lennon, who will undoubtedly savour three points against his former club today.

  19. Ross looking to turn tidepublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

Jack Ross has only been to Celtic Park twice as the opposing manager, but neither of those trips will offer much inspiration for the task that faces Hibs today.

As Alloa manager, Ross' side travelled to Glasgow in September 2016 for a Scottish League Cup quarter-final. That day, goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele made short work of the lower-league side.

Then, six months later, Ross returned to Celtic Park - this time in charge of St Mirren. However, that game didn't pan out in his favour either. Despite an opening goal from Harry Davis, Celtic fought back with four of their own from Mikael Lustig, Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths and another from Dembele.

Could today be the day Ross finally has his way at Celtic Park?

  20. McGregor on bench after returnpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibs boss Jack Ross has opted to stick with the same starting XI that overcame Aberdeen by three goals at Easter Road eight days ago.

But centre-half Darren McGregor returns from injury to sit the bench after four months out with an abdominal injury.
