  1. HALF-TIME Motherwell 0-1 Rangerspublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

The final whistle goes with Rangers enjoying a deserved lead over in-form Motherwell thanks to Nikola Katic's powerful header.

But the action doesn't finish there as Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack gets involved in a bit of shouting match with Liam Donnelly, who was booked moments earlier for his heavy challenge on Alfredo Morelos.

It could be a tasty second half unless tempers cool during the break.

For now, Rangers are heading to the top of the Premiership a point ahead of Celtic.

  2. Postpublished at 45+1

    Motherwell 0-1 Rangers

A wee bit of a coming together as Well centre-half Declan Gallagher and Alfredo Morelos square up.

The referee has a calming word with both, but I'm not sure that's soothed the simmering tempers.

  3. YELLOW CARD Donnelly (Motherwell)published at 43mins

    Motherwell 0-1 Rangers

Motherwell midfielder Liam Donnelly goes into the referee's book with a high challenge on Alfredo Morelos.

The Northern Irishman got the ball, but it was an unwise follow through.

Alfredo Morelos is raging he didn't get a penalty as he is flattened inside the penalty box after being bulldozed from the back by Bevis Mugabi.

  6. Well getting shirtypublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

It looks like Nikola Katic would have had a good shout for a penalty had he not scored as Bevis Mugabi had a hold of the Rangers centre-half's jersey.

It's something rival managers are surely picking up on - when the ball is on the wide area, Morelos always pulls towards the back post

  9. Postpublished at 30mins

    Motherwell 0-1 Rangers

Another chance for Rangers as James Tavernier sends in a deep, outswinging cross and Alfredo Morelos fires into the side-netting on the half-volley.

Testing times for the home side.

A great delivery and a powerful header from Katic who was determined to make that happen

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 25mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

Two fine saves from Mark Gillespie in quick succession deny Alfredo Morelos, both set up by Ryan Kent.

First, the winger slips a pass through to the Colombian striker, whose blistering effort from a difficult angle is clawed away by the goalkeeper.

Next, a Kent head flick sets up Morelos for a low drive Gillespie dives low to turn wide.

    Quote Message

Rangers have hardly played through midfield at all. They keep going long. Ryan Jack hasn't really had a chance to get in to the game

  15. Postpublished at 18mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

A wasted chance for Rangers as goalkeeper Mark Gillespie nervously flaps away a Joe Aribo cross and Glen Kamara makes a mess of his attempt at a first-time shot from the edge of the penalty box.

  16. Postpublished at 17mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

Alfredo Morelos flashes a low cross into the six-yard box, but there are no Rangers team-mates there to take advantage.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

It's Rangers' turn to have claims for a penalty rejected as Joe Aribo meets a corner fired into the near post and his header comes off the shoulder of Jake Carroll for another corner.

Very optimistic shout by the visitors as the defender's arm did not look in an unnatural position.

Nikola Katic goes clattering into the back of Christopher Long as the pair vie for a high ball and both are left clutching painful bonces. Both manage to recover.

Long should've been less hesitant - the longer you wait, the less chance you've got. He should've taken that goal chance earlier

  20. CLOSE!published at 10mins

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

First good chance goes to Motherwell as Christopher Long races behind Connor Goldson, rounds goalkeeper Allan McGregor and sends a dangerous low ball into the six-yard box.

But James Tavernier makes a fine challenge to deny Devante Cole a couple of yards in front of goal and the home striker's calls for a penalty go unheeded.
